ABOUT ME

Born and bred NZer; left NZ to travel (Cape Horner) spending 3 years in UK doing just that - living in London and Bristol; followed by 26 years in Adelaide and 15 years in Canberra; can play bridge but prefer 500!; involved in Rotary International for 25 years; play tennis - if not too hot!; bushwalk/climb hills ("mountains" - climbed Mt Kinabalu in 2009 South East Asia's highest at 4,095m) and several in NZ when younger; hiked Milford Track 2023; love snorkeling and have done so extensively in Asia and Pacific; retired to travel in particular Asia/NZ/Japan/Italy/US/Spain/South America .

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Where do i start ! Have now climbed 4 significant mountains on this planet. From NZ and have spent 2 hours on Franz Joseph Glacier with crampons and a day trip to Doubtful Sound in awesome torrential rain. I'm a Cape Horner in 1978 on a Russian ship! Snorkeling all over Asia including for 30 minutes 6 inches from whale sharks in Philippines, with mantaray in Fiji (also night snorkelling and assisting with the planting of coral for the benefit of future generations), and on Japanese and US wrecks in north Bali. Zip lining in the Philippines! Sailed MS Lofoten Bergen to Kirknes on Norway Russia Finland border experiencing Northern Lights & crossing border to see reindeer and buy milk in Finland! Camping trip (sleeping under the stars and swimming in gorges/rivers/lakes every day) from Broome to Darwin in 2022. 6 weeks travelling by train from south to north Italy hiking on the Amalfi Coast and Cinque Terra. Just love travel and exchanging experiences with other travelers.
