CURRENT MISSION

I am just about to broaden my horizons - I've decided I've been neglecting social networks too long, Facebook keeps writing me I have no friends, but I prefer meeting people in real places. I want to explore the couch-surfing world!

ABOUT ME

I think my friends would say I have a very sarcastic sense of humour - but they like me anyway, which still surprises me. I think I make an appearance of a very independent woman and a high-achiever, but truly, those few real friendships I have, and any positive sharing with people that I can get, mean much more to me than career or competition or anything like that. I believe in lifting people up rather than putting them down, and I think we should always focus on the best qualities we can see in the others, even if we have critical minds... I made it my personal goal to help people stop living in shoe-boxes and learn to see how big and free and rich the world is!

PHILOSOPHY

The world is rich with meaning and joy, we just have to lift a few veils and we are there!

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I would like to discover CS first by just meeting people to show me their town - but in fact, if I could help anybody who doesn't get a couch in Prague and doesn't mind I am 30km away from the capital, I can also host. Right now I am on holiday myself, and at the beginning of September impossibly busy, (being a teacher), but from later on in autumn I would be happy to host or at least meet people in Prague.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

no experience yet - I hope to go to London at the end of the month, I would like to meet people there to show me quirky parts of the city where I wouldn't get without locals - I like to get to know places through people, not through guidebooks. And I can offer the same for Prague.

Interests

I have become quite fascinated by learning from people and through people rather than from books... I am grateful for any open-minded and open-hearted encounters that happen in any field - whether it is while travelling or at work. I have some kind of educational background in languages, literature, philosophy and psychology, but truly, who gives a damn! Sharing time with people who realize that we don't live forever, and so we should make the most of our own lives and work for others as much as we can - that's how I like spending my time.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

What left me awstruck - realizing that we don't live forever and that we should really make the most of our time here. Every day is precious and we really shouldn't waste our time on meaningless things - let alone quarrels or bad thoughts.
Just recently I made a friend feel a bit happier - I find it quite amazing that we can create our own happiness, and also help others to reach it... People have this magic power, if only they cared to admit it and try harder! Well, perhaps I sound a bit sentimental right now - but don't worry, I have my very down-to-earth side!

Teach, Learn, Share

I can help non-native speakers to improve their English - I think I am quite a skillful teacher. I can share teaching experience with other teachers. I can help you learn how to interpret your dreams when you wake up. I can teach you how to avoid unnecessary conflicts with your nearest and dearest. And what do I want to learn? If you could give me some tips on singing, why not :-)- but I wouldn't really torture my guests with that! I like to hear from psychologists and psychotherapists about their jobs, because perhaps I would like to do some psychotherapy training one day. Oh yeah, and I always enjoy dancing, almost whatever wherever!
