My mission is to live my life to its full potential and not let timidity or the unknown hold me back!
I am a writer, reader, dreamer, adventurer. I make friends easily, call everyone "hon" and daydream a lot. I adore road trips! I have training as an archaeologist and I'm interested in pursuing a Master's degree in either Archaeology or History. But first I want to travel!
I recognize that life is both precious and short and that I want to live up to my potentials and explore my interests as much as possible. I try to live my life by the Serenity prayer: God grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the Courage to change the things that I can and the Wisdom to know the difference. I know that everyone I meet has something to teach me and I wish to stay humble and open-minded so I can learn from them.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I am a verified member of CouchSurfing. I want to participate more by meeting others through the website by hosting Surfers and staying with other members in my travels.
I have not had the opportunity to Couch Surf yet. :(
I love camping, hiking, biking and just being outdoors. I love books and libraries, history and museums, music (I listen to all genres!), cooking, baseball and yoga.
- outdoor activities
- adventure races
- road trips
Music, Movies, and Books
My favorite authors include J.R.R. Tolkien, Yukio Mishima, Neil Gaiman and Mercedes Lackey (I have many others).
I am currently fascinated by the movies of Takashi Miike, Akira Kurosawa and Stanley Kubrick.
I listen to all musical genres but right now a lot of country (Toby Keith) and opera (especially Wagner). But I also love jazz, cajun, soul, classic rock, folk and "gothic" metal.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Just recently I camped at the Salton Sea in southern California with my boyfriend. The man-made sea is subject to massive fish die-outs which means the shore is covered in dead fish. I was walking on the beach when I realized the dune I was standing on was actually millions and millions of tiny fish bones! I watched the sun come up and the flocks of birds on the water and knew this place was like nowhere else on Earth!
