About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I need to travel this summer to feel alive again.

ABOUT ME

I am married to Bob, a car mechanic and live with two cats, Cheezie Poof and Wormy. I am a Master Metalsmith
which means I have a termianl degree in my field of study. My astrological sign is a Leo. I am fiercely loyal to friends. I do not need to be the center of attention like most Leos. I inherited the travel bug from my mother, Marcella who traveled around the world by herself in 1950. I live in one of the most corrupt states in America. you have probabley heard that our Governor, Rod Blagojevich was just impeached.
I am a free spirit and will never let any man control me. I wish we had world peace but am realistic enough to know this will probably never happen. I am a Christian and believe that God loves us all equally. My faith has gotten me through many tough times such as the death of my bestfriend, Zoe Davis, the death of my mother, Marcella from cancer. Most recently the will to comeback from an accident that caused me to have two surgeries on my shoulders.
I am 43 years old and re-entering the work force after a three year hiatus. I love to travel abroad especially Europe, Afica and the Middle East.

PHILOSOPHY

People are basically honest and kind anywhere you travel. Do unto others as they would do unto you.
I live each day like it could be my last. I cannot change the world but I can do my part to help in my small way. You must be open to new experiences if you are to grow as a person.

Music, Movies, and Books

I enjoy movies especially mysteries, dramas and comedies and adventures recently I saw " Miss Pettigrew lives for a Day" and the latest "Batman".
I enjoy all kinds of music I always buy music from the countries that I visit. I read mysteries and historical
books based on ancient art history.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to Turkey in 1997 on my own and traveled by myself from Istanbul to the coast up to Pamanukale.
I perfer to travel by myself than with a group because I go where the wind blows me. When I went to Egypt in 1999 I was very disturbed by the desperateness of the children. Especially by the Tombs of the Nobels where the guides had to physically keep the children at a distance. Later that trip we went to a carpet factory and saw children from age 5 to 12 weaving carpets for the tourists. I could not buy a carpet because in my mind this would be for child labor which I feel is morally wrong. Instead I gave money to one girl and my fellow travels followed suite and gave money to the children instead of buying a carpet. I was later repremanded by my college Professor but it was worth it.

Teach, Learn, Share

When in a Muslim country be respectful. Do not make eye contact with the men because they will think you want to sleep with them. If you want to buy something
pretent that you really don't care if you aquire it or not. Once you begin to bargain be prepared to walk away if the price is to high. I never drink water unless it is from a sealed bottle.

Countries I’ve Visited

Cyprus, Egypt, Greece, Turkey, Vatican City State

Countries I’ve Lived In
