About Me

Trying to meet the most interesting people I can.

By day, I work for a news network in NYC. At all other times I'm an aspiring screenwriter and an amateur explorer. While my job requires me to spend A LOT of time on the internet, there's also a bunch of other things I love, like: being outdoors, bicycling, yoga, dancing, running in the mornings by the water, attempting to bake things I find on the internet and (usually) failing, and meeting new people.

I always feel the need to be seeing new things and meeting new people, which is why I'm so in love with traveling. I've never understood people who have no desire to see things far from where they're originally from. I'm always wondering what amazing people in other parts of the world there are out there for me to still meet. I love to hear new stories, see new things, have new experiences and be open-minded to new philosophies.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

Traveling this year for the first time in a while, and looking to meet new people in cities I go to! I love everything about this site and plan to host lots once I settle down and decide where I want to live...

I first got really "into" Couchsurfing last year in Montreal when my friend Julia and I bumped into a lovely couch surfer (while we were on line for poutine - haha!) who invited us to a CouchSurfing meet-up. We got to know many lovely couch surfers who've been surfing couches all over the world, and it was awesome. Since then, I've had my first surfing experience - in Baltimore - and hope to have a lot more!

I love talking about film, the American film industry and learning about international film and film industries across the world. Always love to see and learn about art, love going to concerts, hearing new music for the first time (I really love world music like Peruvian cumbia, Punjabi bhangra etc...). I'm interested in environmental issues and urban sustainability - my dream is to one day say I've been on every subway/metro in the world.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: I love German directors like Fassbinder, Wenders, and Herzog. Also love Spanish films (Almodovar) and Japanese horror films, which I'm now getting into. And I'm a big old Hollywood junkie.

Music: Current musicians/bands I'm listening to are M83, Bon Iver, Die Antwoord, Joanna Newsom, Arcade Fire, Cut Copy, Animal Collective, Lana Del Rey... world music from a bunch of different places... much more...

Books: I love memoirs - David Sedaris and Augusten Burroughs are two of my favorites.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Visited Machu Picchu in Peru. Got a crazy suburn but it was so, so worth it.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel like you learn so much from just listening to people if you're open to it. I'm the kind of person that loves to be around people at all times, and nothing makes me happier than a good, passionate conversation. I love debates, but am a pretty peaceful person and believe everyone's entitled to their own opinions! I feel like I'm young and am learning so much every day, and if someone can take a little bit of something away from meeting me as well, that's amazing!

Countries I’ve Visited

Belgium, Bolivia, Canada, Netherlands, Peru

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
