ABOUT ME
I say yes to: picnics, The Atlantic magazine, French film, hammocks, swimming biking and running, staying up late for sunsets, waking up early for sunrises, attempting (or succeeding at) intellectual discourse, NPR (especially This American Life and Radiolab), local music, peanut butter, yoga, full-face smiles, kayaking, exploring in the woods, stargazing, journaling, TED talks, new experiences
I will politely turn down: an afternoon watching TV, baseball, hardcore metal, glum faces, meat on my dinner plate, and not much else
PHILOSOPHY
"If the world were merely seductive, that would be easy. If it were merely challenging, that would be no problem. But I arise in the morning torn between a desire to improve the world and a desire to enjoy the world. This makes it hard to plan the day." -E.B. White
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
It's give and take.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
Had a lovely time with both a CS picnic and overnight stay in London.
Interests
As a journalism student, the entire world fascinates me. Since I can't pick a single area of study, I chose to study the fascinating people who are doing marvelous things. I love learning new information, especially fun trivial knowledge. Art, music, food, books, and other cultural happenings interest me the most.
I need to be in motion to stay sane. That currently includes a combination of running and yoga; however, I also enjoy swimming, biking, tennis, and pretending to be good at frisbee and soccer.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Standing on the cliffs of Tintagel in Cornwall and feeling like I was at the edge of the world. The view of the ocean and the speculation that King Arthur build his castle on that spot made it magical.
Sunrise on the Charles Bridge in Prague: watching the lights flicker out and the sun rise over the water, illuminating the statues.
Teach, Learn, Share
Teach: French, tasty vegetarian cooking, any random knowledge that comes up in conversation
Learn: always open to learning new languages, about foreign cultures, how to grow plants without killing them, etc.
