About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Meet people, speak languages, teach, write, read and spread the love

ABOUT ME

I love to enjoy other languages, people and cultures! I am always up for adventure and traveling; love cooking and gardening, animals, nature and music.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have hosted a number of people and it has gone wonderfully! I love CouchSurfing and I believe it has truly changed my life. In 2013, I hosted someone that ended up staying in Atlanta and becoming my roommate and good friend. I have not used CS to travel yet, so my experience is only on the hosting side of things. I am excited to have time to travel now and surf some amazing couches!

Interests

I mostly hang out in Atlanta, go to farmer's markets, festivals, good restaurants, live shows and friends' houses and anywhere else that sounds fun. I love going to local burns (camping art festivals) in the southeast of the United States. I am extremely open-minded, non-judgmental and outgoing. My housemates are too. To maintain a safe and loving space, we don't tolerate drama or illegal drugs.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went glacier climbing on my 30th Birthday in Alaska! SO amazing!!! Alaska/BC is amazing!!!

I also went Iguazú falls in Argentina in 2009 and I was on a boat that stopped on the exact border of Brazil, Argentina and Paraguay all at the same time.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you Spanish, English or help you with any of the other languages I am learning. I also have formal education in linguistics, ethno-musicology, political science and psychology.

In addition to the boring academic stuff I can do, I am also a great cook, have been doing yoga for over 10 years, am pretty skilled in pilates, know how to rock climb, bowl, slack-line, surf, ski, snow-board, do acrobatic tricks on the Lyra, knit, sew, play card games, dig holes, pet dogs, feed birds and shine shoes. We can even play hop scotch together!

I teach private lessons in Spanish, English, Albanian and Latin in the Atlanta area. I am the founder and Executive Director of Albanian Voices. I absolutely love getting to know new people through travel. It is my number one passion in life.

I'm terrible at beer pong, but I will rock you in dominoes.

What I Can Share with Hosts

I can share my knowledge of other languages and cultures with my hosts. I have many great stories of my travels, but I can also be a good listener. I want to hear your stories too and learn about the city I'm staying in. I want to share in a positive experience with people wherever I go and I hope my enthusiasm for life will be a welcomed contribution to your home.
