My mission is to go into the world and experience what it has to offer - from new places to people and ideas.

ABOUT ME

I feel like I have fallen victim to the day to day humdrum life of the average American. I have become disheartened with how I am currently living my life and I have struggled with depression for years. I want to use travel and experiences with new people to regain hope in both myself and the future.

I know this seems melodramatic! But be not afraid, I am actually a funny, caring person that is just going through a rough patch.

I'm a pretty typically average progressive. People have told me I'm radical, but that could just be because I live in the South and enjoy recycling.

I'm a little sarcastic sometimes.

PHILOSOPHY

"Why do I live my life" couchsurfing asks... I'm working on that. My intent with travelling is gaining experiences and seeing that all that is out there is worth living for and people are worth believing in.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

The only free accommodation experience I've had was last Spring, during a social justice organizing retreat in New Orleans, Louisiana. The group I met up with, bright young organizers from all around the general South region, stayed in a Unitarian Universalist Church that offered free housing for our retreat. They were so gracious and not having to pay for lodging led to me actually being able to attend the retreat, where I learned some of the most valuable things through experiences and met some of the most sincere people I ever have.

I can play violin pretty proficiently, though it has been a few years since I took classes on it.

I've gained a lot of skills organizing (organizations, not shelves, etc.) over the past few years and would be willing to share any wisdom I might possess.

I'm very interested in being introduced to new languages.
