About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Poking around the globe.

ABOUT ME

I'm a multi-media sculptor and illustrator looking to bounce around the world on the cheap side so as to keep paying my debt to the US educational system. I like to do just about anything. I love history, so my main interest when traveling tends to be cultural and historical venues. I love being out in nature too, so another main travel interest I have when visiting a new place is to check out the local geography. I'm down for a good time and enjoy meeting new people and doing cultural exchange. After all, the best way to get to know a place second to actually going there is talking with people who live there.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't go around saying the world owes you a living. The world owes you nothing. It was here first.
- Mark Twain

If you are silent about your pain, they’ll kill you and say you enjoyed it.
-Zora Neale Hurston

In order to move on, you must understand why you felt what you did and why you no longer need to feel it.
- Mitch Albom, "Five People You meet in Heaven"

Laughter and tears are both responses to frustration and exhaustion. I myself prefer to laugh, since there is less cleaning up to do afterward.
– Kurt Vonnegut

The philosophy of mine earth can be summed up as this: Sunshine creates happiness, and I create myself. Nights are long and life is predominantly good. Wind is refreshing. Tea is wisdom. Do the best you can, and be good to yourself so that you can above all be good to others.
-Jessi Lane Adams

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

As of right now, I offer some good times and culture exchanges. I can't host at the moment, but I can definitely hang out and show someone around.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had one international couch surfing experience, and my experience was a positive one.

Interests

I like art and just about any form of making, discussing, or observing it. I enjoy music and enjoy dancing to it, singing it, and playing it on the ukulele. I like biking as my preferred mode of transportation, particularly on road bikes, and hiking is extremely meditative. I like studying and learning about different social sciences. Lately, the social science I've felt drawn to has been linguistics. I don't know if I do it very well, but I like cooking different foods I discover or learn about and I enjoy good healthy food. I like arugula, tea, bagels, and coffee. Speaking of coffee, black is best. I like writing, but only journaling, list making, letter writing, and random prose relating to things in my life. I like the color green. Spontaneous seems to be my middle name, as the events that inspire me the most are never planned.
