About Me

All the pathos and irony of leaving one’s youth behind is thus implicit in every joyous moment of travel: one knows that the first joy can never be recovered, and the wise traveler learns not to repeat successes but tries new places all the time.

I met a lot of people in Europe. I even encountered myself. -James Baldwin

I am a 20 year old student that has just discovered the wonders of traveling. Up until last August, I spent my whole life in Virginia and never got to experience traveling. My first adventure led me to a small town in Honduras called El Progreso. Once there, I volunteered and then decided to travel around the country for a week with someone who I barely knew. So far, that has been one of the best decisions of my life. I learned that sometimes it is best to take risks, jump out of the comfort zones, and explore!

My goal after graduating college is to work for an NGO in Latin America, join the Peace Corps, and then figure out the rest of my life as it comes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I have never couch-surfed before but I am looking forward to all of the new experiences that will follow!

I enjoy: traveling (especially places where I don't know the language), meeting new people, speaking Spanish, reading, playing softball, and living everyday to its fullest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Despite all of the amazing places I've been, and the sights I've seen in Europe, my experience in Honduras tops it all.
My first day traveling abroad, I went from the suburbs of Virginia (where I had lived all my life) to standing directly under Pulhpanzak Falls in Honduras.
