ABOUT ME

The Young Professionals Program in Vietnam YPDP suits to members who want to take up on a new challenge and learn new skills, take part in something worthwhile and meaningful as part of an international team with volunteer activities and internship that align with their areas of interest. These opportunities provide valuable, career-building experiences and facilitate networking with top researchers and community leaders from around the world
The projects we offer can be undertaken on either a short or long term basis and focus on education, environment education and community development. There are numerous projects for volunteers at YPDP both in urban and rural areas. We also have tailor-made internship programs to suit the volunteer’s interests and skills.
Developing Capacity for Youth
We believe Education is fundamental to human progress, enabling individuals and communities to acquire skills and knowledge essential for improving their quality of life. But for vulnerable groups like rural teenagers access to high quality education is limited. While this teenagers must be a major part of any equation dealing with immediate and long-term solutions to sustainable development.
As an informal education program, Our objective is to help these teenagers realize more of their potential and enjoy expanded capabilities to address the increasing global social, economic and environmental challenges we face on. This will be done in real work situations, and organize training courses about the Essential Successful Living Skills.
Taking part in this program, international volunteers can help with different activities:
o Assist the local staffs in developing and implementing educational games about Essential Successful Living Skill.
o Organizing practice English lessons for rural youth, improving capacity to use English as an effective tool
o Help organize seminar series, seminar subjects, conferences, forums and short- term training courses, within the frame work of the center
o Support the school for other activities to be realized with students
Environmental Educational Program
YPDP conducts environmental education camps in the north of Vietnam with a primary objective to create more perceptive understanding of the environment within the local community. Swimming, hiking and canoeing are also on the agenda as campers learn new outdoor skills. Campers come away with a life-long passion for nature and a dedication to stewardship of our natural resources.
Campers learn science, solve challenges, play games, keep journals, and discover the interconnectedness of life on earth. Participants will learn to make full use of their senses to perceive and understand the natural world around them, and feel comfortable in their natural environment.
Campers will observe human being’s interaction with the natural environment in order to better understand their own place in the earth’s ecosystem. They will explore ecological processes such as succession, food webs, and adaptations. They will be taught to recognize both human’s needs and the needs of nature and the complications that result from these conflicting needs.
Summer work camp in the North of Vietnam
In Vietnam, after the success of the annual International Summer camps, YPDP has further developed our annual summer work camp. The program focuses on 3 themes: “Community, Culture and the Environment”.
YPDP organze camp summer in order to share knowledge about health and hygiene awareness, education and forest preservation with the local community. Volunteers will live with the local community and gain a valuable insight and understanding of the daily hardships that these people face.
This is a good opportunity for people to enjoy a multi-cultural environment. This is also a splendid occasion for volunteers to share their feelings and help disadvantaged people as well as join our environmental conservation activities. All Vietnamese and International volunteers will be accommodated in home stays and camping during the summer camp.
Internship Program
The internship program offers a look inside the innermost workings of our member-based, non-profit organization. Every day, our rapid expansion demands constant contact, support and outreach on the ground in most countries to sustain YPDP's important work towards global peace. As part of the Management Team interns are expected to take initiative with aspects of grant writing, event planning and campaign strategies. As we are a student-run and student-generated organization, your ideas, unique experiences and skills will be sought by our staff to make YPDP more effective.

With support from YPDP through the project “Capacity building for Viet Nam Non-governmental organization” YPDP will work with local NGOs to fill the current capacity in building effective partnerships, improving coordination, information sharing and networking in an effort to better meet the needs of YPDP’s partners.
