About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To have an adventure.

ABOUT ME

I am... I have no idea.

PHILOSOPHY

I need to find one.

Though there is "Believe", which is a wide statement that everyone should believe in something, be it a religion or political ideal. Of course, there's also belief without forcing that belief on others, so it's a weird dogmatic thing.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't yet! But I want to.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Well, first I went to stay with an internet friend for the weekend of Halloween for the Stewart/Colbert Rally to Restore Sanity (and/or Promote Fear). We never did make it to the rally, and my friend spent his time playing Fallout while I got to know HIS friends.
Later, I visited my boyfriend for Christmas. What a terrible idea that was. We got close, we got far, we broke up, we got back together. He thought I was a slob and kept trying to stop me from burning all the delicious food I made, which in turn just burned it.
Then hampered by a snowstorm and feeling very depressed from being on a bus for a full day, I took a detour and visited a friend outside Chicago for a week. We spent the whole time watching movies and making food. She loved me, it was almost the exact opposite of the experience with my ex. She thought I was courteous, she loved my cooking, she laughed at my dick, she acted like some weird combination of mother, grandmother, and 4 year old. Good times. I also took her on a date and then she kissed me when I was planning on kissing her. I made out with more people in two weeks than I had in my whole life. It was kind of awesome. Except for the heartache and break up on Christmas thing.
That's the most traveling I've done. Later when I got home, me and the ex made up, apologized for how we acted, and then broke up again, got back together again, etcetera. One of the times we were on, he wanted me to move in with him, and I said I would (after school) and I decided that I'd backpack the whole way there. Well, that fell through when we fell through, but I'll be damned if I was going to let a little thing like a break up stop me from backpacking. I'd be doing it alone, but the idea was way too damned cool to give up on.

Interests

Roleplaying games, video games, movies. I want to try urban exploring and parkour along with traveling across the US.
I like being creative. Telling a story. I'm going to try to become a writer. And a (pen and paper) game designer. I've almost entirely given up on working on video games, after my shittastical time at ITT Tech, where they taught me that I should have done more research instead of listening to my parents and going to the first place they picked.

I also really want to stop being so damned fat. I figure backpacking will probably fix that a bit.

And, well, might as well put this somewhere in the profile. I'm sort of confused about my gender. I suppose I'm ostensibly 'genderqueer', in that I want to be a male, but present myself as a female and be feminine. So I'm kind of interested in gender play. I guess I'm also marginally interested in the rest of LGBT culture, but mostly as long as I'm not arrested/beaten/whatever for being transgender, I'm okay. Sure, other people and stuff, but I'm an American, you know how it is. Doesn't directly effect me.

Music, Movies, and Books

(In no order)
MOVIES: Jacob's Ladder, Session 9, Memento, Se7en, Hard Candy (holy crap cinematography that's almost uncomfortably close), Hancock, Spiderman (not the third, obviously), Inception (You have to go deeper), Romeo+Juliet, The Departed (one of the most brutal things I've ever seen), The Eye (the original), Benjamin Button, Chronicles of Narnia, The Fall (beautiful, imaginative movie with an amazing plot)
BOOKS: Odd Thomas, House of Leaves, Harry Potter, Animorphs (one day I will go back and read/reread all of them. One day), Dresden Files, Urban Shaman, Greywalker. I need to read more.
MUSIC: Jason Mraz, Train, Coldplay, Bon Jovi, Usher, MIKA, The Beatles, Journey, Kansas, Creadance Clearwater, Rasputina, whatever's on the "we play anything" stations, J-Pop, Weird Al, Classic Rock and nerdcore rap and R&B and covers from GLEE. I don't even like artists, just songs.
VIDEO GAMES (because they matter): Silent Hill (2,3,0, Shattered Memories), Assassin's Creed (I think Brotherhood may be, mechanically, one of the best games I've ever played, and the sequel with the most improvement over the original while still sticking to the core), Prince of Persia (Sands of Time and Two Thrones specifically), Bioshock, Final Fantasy (X, II, V, VI, Crisis Core, VII though not as much as everyone else), Legend of Zelda (Okay, I've only beaten the Gameboy ones...)
TELEVISION: The Daily Show (It's the only news I can stand to watch), Castle, Law and Order (SVU, then CI), Supernatural (it makes me want to run Hunter: The Vigil so bad...) actually, I haven't watched TV in a while, and now Hulu wants subscriptions...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've seen C-beams glittering in the da--wait, no, that was Rutger Hauer.

I'm sure I've done something amazing, but I'll be damned if I can remember it, so that's obviously not all that amazing. Well, we'll fix that.

It's kind of amazing that I'm actually doing this trip (unless I give up, then it's not amazing).

Teach, Learn, Share

I can share the secret to making a good character, and pass on the knowledge of a story. Though I'm really not that good at it myself.

I can always share how to play a pen and paper game.

And cooking. But that's mostly me explaining that it tastes better than it looks and that it's not really THAT burned.
