I was born and raised in Tokyo, Japan but have lived and worked in Seoul, Korea and Moscow, Russia as well.
My first time ever travel alone was in Kazakhstan, where one of my friends throw darts on the world map and it sticked in. But I had never been on plane that I was afraid of, so I took boat from Japan to Shanghai, then took train across China to Kazakhstan among Silk Road Way. I was 18 or 19.
Since then, I have traveled mostly former USSR states. I lost my passport in Moldova, but pizza guy delivered to me. My Russian host got married a beautiful wife because he hosted me (I know you don't get what I mean!), I have met so many cool ones and I still keep in touch, visit them again.
