I am Atip from Thailand who is now pursuing the MBA at the National University of Singapore. I'm elected by the largest NUS MBA batch ever to lead the Students' Council as the President of the 39th Students' Council, embarking the history by being the first Thai President.
Prior to the MBA, I used to work as an international Merger and Acquisition tax advisor at Ernst & Young Thailand.
On my personal side which I take it professionally serious, during 2019-2021, I have initiated, curated, and led more than 30+ non-profit trips joined by 200+ Thai and non-Thai strangers from online and offline platforms to raise awareness of eco-friendly, sustainable, and community-based tourism across Thailand and overseas, building a community for life-long friends or even business alliances.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
For short run, as a student who used to work, I realized how precious the school break could be for someone (including me!) to explore the world. I'm looking forward to meeting up new people and going around the world to experience new things. I really wish I could find travel mates and/or a good host somewhere depending on wherever I could go.
For long run, I'm a really people person. I like to listen and learn things from other people's stories. It's always fun and rewarding for me to see how the world is really diverse and how people interact and see things differently. That's why I believe CS is a great place for me to carry on my journey because traveling means more than just reaching the destination, but it's the memory you share along with the people your destiny has crossed to :)
Music, Movies, and Books
Not much a reader, more for an audio and visual learner. The best movie that it's always been number 1 in my life Shawshank Redemption. It helps me a lot to go through all challenges that I forced myself out of that tempting comfort zone. Also, I'm just another person who listens to mass media music like general pop songs. Not much specific taste for music. However, I like all music I can sing XD
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
If we talk about traveling, the most amazing thing I've done is when I was in the 3-day-2-night trek that I initiated and organized for 9 trip members over 20+ km, I was super exhausted since day 2 (lol) but eventually, I managed to move my ass to the peak of camping site on a very early morning of day 3, and what I saw is breathtaking ... I never forgot my feeling at that time. It was such a rewarding moment of my life. That moment was even more memorable for me when I and 3 of my friends spent that time together staring at the first sunlight and a borderless sea of cloud. It was so cold but really warm inside. After that trip, camping, hiking, trekking, and adventurous sports became a big part of me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I really have no idea what I could share; probably anything about Thailand? My professional background is also not something people are really interested.
Also, I really enjoy listening to and learning about other countries' cultures. I feel great when I see how people are so diverse but learn how to treat each other decently. That's probably something we can share and learn together too :)
