About Me

I am a poet living in Fayetteville, AR at the moment. I am currently trying to organize a portfolio of poems in order to apply to graduate programs starting in Fall 2020. My biggest interest is in art, not strictly tied to a specific medium, although I do have a bias towards literary work (for some odd reason). I believe it is good for everyone to at least dabble with different mediums, artists and non-artists alike, in order to see how certain aesthetics in one medium are applicable to another (for example, collage in poetry or music) or find a new way of self expression that is appealing to oneself. I would love to talk to a host about any topics in this range of discussion.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I come from a small town in Arkansas (Pop. 200) and grew up never really having the opportunity to travel/vacation much. We would go visit family in bordering states, but there was never many occasions where we visited somewhere for the pure enjoyment of the trip. I'm hoping to use Couchsurfing in order to begin making these sort of trips to see what it's really like out there despite my well-informed ideas of the American landscape.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I attended the Arkansas School for Mathematics, Sciences, and the Arts (ASMSA) my junior and senior year of high school. This was one of the most, if not the most, pivotal steps I've taken in my personal development, being a shy, sheltered Delta kid moving to an academic facility that garners academic and cultural nourishment. I was lived with students from all around Arkansas, giving us a like minded and culturally diverse survey of attendants. This was also where I decided to give up my intended career of Computer Science after getting actual experience programming and turning my interest towards writing, in which a Creative Writing class was offered my senior year by my favorite teacher.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach my host about anything art related that is in my jurisdiction and in my host's interests

Learn about my host in a personable way and hopefully the environment they are immersed in

Share a strange and interesting experience thanks to this digital network in postmodern society

What I Can Share with Hosts

Basically the Teach part of Teach, Learn, Share

I hope to also try and write poetry/micro-fiction/etc. based on my couchsurfing experiences in which I would love to share with my hosts post-visit, maybe even collaborate on some kind of art project if my host is interested.
