create sustainable local and worldwide communities
I spend most of my time schooling, cooking, student teaching, reading, creating art, and loving my cat. I'm working with The Appalachian Studies Center at my school to research and collect heirloom seeds, stories, and share them and their importance with the world.
People deserve to be happy and the first step to happiness is true, holistic health.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
NEW to the couch surfing website although I have surfed couches a many a time around the country.
I love making small art, I'm not super skilled or trained in art but I love drawing and taking what I see and turning it into something new. I enjoy recycled art and might be a little bit of a junk hoarder, but I can't help seeing beauty in lots of the little things :) I love my cat a lot and I like to pamper him. I love being outdoors, especially when it's really warm and I'm sitting in some soil. I spend a lot of time researching heirloom seeds and organic gardening. The area where I attend college is right in the thick of the blue ridge mountains and I enjoy every aspect of it, except some of the politics! ^-^ I read and lot of books and one day I'll be a teacher!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been struck by lightening twice, once in a river, once in a barn. I've also seen some amazing lighting/heat storms. Sun shining on the snow in Wyoming was breath taking.
