Hello!

My name is Avner. I am curious, happy and simple guy. I love meeting people and sharing stories and always excited to learn about a new place from someone who actually lives there.

I'm an artist working in the film/Animation industry. I worked on some films you might have seen like The penguins of Madagscar, Mr. peabody and sherman, and Trolls that will come out later this year. I spend my days drawing and painting, Designing for features films and TV shows. Loving it!!
As an artist I am always looking for new inspiration and the experiences I gain while traveling are always special and become a big part of my work.

I've been living in California for 5 years now, forst in San Francisco and now in Los Angeles. I am always exploring and looking for an opportunity to mix things up a bit and try to go on trips as much as possible, near or far. Everywhere can be exciting.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

in 2011 I was invited to give a talk in an Animation conference in bogota,Colombia.

I've never been to that part of the world before and the opportunity to travel around and see more than just the city seemed very exciting. a 3 day conference turned into a 3 week trip all over the country, which made me meet the nicest hosts and travelers and made me fall in love with traveling in a while new way. Since than I am constantly waiting for my next trip, looking forward to learn about new places and meet new people I can share stories with.

Teach, Learn, Share

Being in a new city is always a great opportunity for me to go outside and draw. I love sketching people and environments. it makes the experience of a place so much more memorable for me than a photo. Maybe you want to join me for sketch crawl or a drawing lesson?
