I'm traveling across the country and I have more places I want to visit than I have friends who live there!

ABOUT ME

I'm 23 and I'm in the process of finding a job and a place to live in Chicago. Before I do that though I want to travel across the country this summer and visit friends all over. Some place I want to visit I don't really know anyone who lives there. A friend told me about couchsurfing.org and I thought I'd try it out. When I finally get a place and a job, I'm going to be working freelance doing photo work and working on films doing makeup. I just recently moved from Savannah, Georgia where I lived and went to school there for 5 years. I decided it was time for me to move to a bigger place. In Chicago I have a few friends and some family, too.

I like being outside and getting exercise regularly. I'm a practicing vegan, but not a very critical one. I'm pretty laid back, love to cook and go out to eat. I also love going out to galleries and museums, I'm hoping to get my work in the scene up here myself. I have an over abundant sense of humor and I'm always laughing.

PHILOSOPHY

I work very hard to keep balance in my life, through my diet, my responsibilities and punctuality. I feel that all actions have reactions and nothing you do is inconsequential.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'd really like to be able to show people around Chicago and give them a place to go when they want to visit a new city, much as myself. Hopefully I will be able to offer a couch when I find an apartment, but right now I don't know if I will be able to do that, as much as I'd like to. Finally, I definitely would love to find couches to stay on while I'm traveling this summer. I want to meet new people and see new places.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I don't have much experience with this couchsurfing organization but I travel a lot and I have usually stay on couches of people I already knew. By joining this organization I am hoping to expand my options.

Interests

Music, Movies, and Books

I listen to all sorts of music, right now a lot more electronic work. I also keep up with a lot of indie horror/zombie/b-movies. I watch ones that are smart and have charisma not ones that are all sensational.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've traveled Europe, driven all over the country, built rafts and taken them out on the ocean, gone backpacking through the mountains, built all sorts of contraptions with my friends back in high school and college, worked on many films doing special effects makeup, had my work shown in a few galleries in Atlanta.

Teach, Learn, Share

I feel the best way to learn from people is to see how they live and talk to them. I've discovered from my previous travels that everyone is willing to share the information about what they do, whether it be their occupation are the hobbies.
