About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Live Dream Love. To travel and experience life as others do, to be a citizen of the world and grow as a person.

ABOUT ME

I'm awkward - not so much in the socially-incapable-of-human-interaction kind of way, but more in the i-like-to-say-well-this-is-awkward-and-point-out-awkward-situations-that-would-otherwise-go-unnoticed kind of way. I like to think I can eliminate any awkward situation, by making the situation more awkward. That being said, awkwardness tends to follow me and I find myself in the most bizarre situations. I've learned to embrace it and believe it or not, awkwardity can be quite endearing.

PHILOSOPHY

live dream love. Live the Dream. Dream of Love. Love Life.

"It's never too late to be who you might have been." - George Eliot

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm relatively new to CS. I'm still getting the feel for the community and figuring out what it is all about. I've had my first adventure and it was wonderful; I look forward to many more.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In 2009 I road-tripped from Des Moines, IA to the East Coast of the United States, and into Canada. I was on the road for a week and stayed with three friends along the way. It was by far my greatest life experience so far and I look forward to many more adventures.

Interests

I really dig theatre of all kinds. I'm a book worm. I freaking LOVE Harry Potter. I collect playing cards. I enjoy drawing, being artsy and making things aesthetically pleasing.

Music, Movies & Books

Movies: V for Vendetta, 300, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, Away We Go

Music: I have an extremely eclectic taste, depending on my mood on a certain day it ranges from: The Shins to Zac Brown Band, musical soundtracks to Tchaikovsky.
Currently in my most recently played are:
Something Corporate, The Shins, Matt Nathanson, Counting Crows, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Taylor Swift, Death Cab for Cutie, The Killers, Howie Day, Brand New, Straylight Run, Rent, Jason Mraz, Mumford & Sons

Books: I dig classic literature stuff that is generally referenced in pop culture - I like being in the loop. That being said, college overtook my life for the last four years and I did very little reading for fun in that time.
Thankfully I've started to make up for that lost time. Recently I've read: The Hunger Games trilogy, The Help, and Oranges Are Not The Only Fruit. I am currently making my way through Doctor Zhivago.

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I went to Niagara Falls in Canada and watched the sunrise. It was fantastic.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm good at arranging things compositionally and making things aesthetically pleasing from room furniture to elements of a home-made birthday card.

I want to learn how to cook/bake. (I can make basics, but interesting, relatively easy/fast, and cheap deliciousness would be an awesome asset to my life.)
