About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finish up 50 states in 50 weeks. Check out my progress at: www.alwaysbwandering.com

Go to London and geek out on Harry Potter.

Go to Dublin and visit an old friend.

Live Dream Love. To travel and experience life as others do, to be a citizen of the world, and to grow as a person.

ABOUT ME

I'm awesome. I'm funny and artsy and kind. I like to make new friends, go to new places, and experience new things. I don't like to stay anywhere too long and I look forward to making the world a better place in any and every way I can.

PHILOSOPHY

live dream love.
Live the Dream.
Dream of Love.
Love to Live.

"It's never too late to be who you might have been." - George Eliot

"...wander as free as the wind..." - Paulo Coelho's The Alchemist

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I'm currently a surfer. I've been living on the road visiting all 50 states in 50 weeks and have no home to host in. Then I'm heading to London to see Harry Potter and the Cursed Child, popping over to Ireland to see a college friend and heading to Austin, TX to start hosting!

I used to live in rural Arkansas, but no one requested to stay with me when I lived there (shocking, I know!). So I haven't hosted yet, but I look forward to setting up a killer guest room when I get to Austin, TX so I can host.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I stayed with 110 Couchsurfing Hosts over the course of my year on the road seeing all 50 states. I made a number of really good friends and I even fell in love with one. Everyone I met taught me something valuable, even if they didn't know it at the time. I am so grateful for the opportunity to make new friends and exchange experiences and I look forward to meeting many more interesting people as my travels (and theirs) continue.

Interests

I'm really passionate about social justice. I'm a book worm. I LOVE Harry Potter. I like being happy.

Things that make me happy: reading (especially Harry Potter), drawing, painting, anything that fuels my creativity really, theatre, dancing (especially ZUMBA), meditating, yoga, being goofy, and telling corny jokes. I collect playing cards.

Music, Movies, and Books

Movies: V for Vendetta, 300, The Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, Garden State, and Away We Go.

Music: I have an extremely eclectic taste, it really depends on my mood, or what's happening around me. Sometimes on a given day I listen to anything from: The Shins to Zac Brown Band, or musical soundtracks to Tchaikovsky.

Currently my most recently played artists are:
Something Corporate, The Shins, Matt Nathanson, Adele, John Mayer, Jack Johnson, Taylor Swift, Death Cab for Cutie, The Killers, Howie Day, Brand New, Straylight Run, Rent, Jason Mraz, and Mumford & Sons

Books: I dig classic literature. Generally stuff that is referenced in pop culture - I like being in the loop.
Favorites: Love in the Time of Cholera, The Alchemist, Harry Potter series (Prisoner of Azkaban if I had to pick just one), and the Unwind series.
Recently I've read: A Walk Across America, Times Like These, The One Hundred Year Old Man Who Climbed Out the Window and Disappeared, The Alchemist, The Harry Potter series, The Divergent series, The Unwind series, and Pieces of Me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I spent the better part of a year Couchsurfing around the United States and made it to all 50 states. That was pretty awesome.

Teach, Learn, Share

I'm good at arranging things compositionally and making things aesthetically pleasing from room furniture to elements of a home-made birthday card.

I want to learn how to cook/bake better. (I can make basics, but interesting, relatively easy/fast, and cheap dishes would be an awesome asset to my life.)

What I Can Share with Hosts

Stories. Art. Laughter. English. Manual Labor.

Countries I’ve Visited

Bahamas, Canada, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

United States
