About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to live a happy life

ABOUT ME

I'm your typical suburban white kid except when I turned 19 I decided not to go the college route and just wound up following a path of convoluted occupations that has lead me here today. I've been a coffee roaster, Brewer, Owner of an altenative fuel distribution company, Diesel mechanic, and a Fisherman. Right now I work at a big bakery but it sort of sucks.
I have always wanted to go get an education but have been discouraged by all of my friends who have a degree and are either so limited that they cant find a job or that they are just unhappy with where they are in their work-a-day lives. I want to be able to do anything I want. This is probably a shortsighted plan but I'll cross my bridges when I come to them. Fishing makes me enough money in 5 months to support myself and my travels for the remaining time. Last year was sort of an off year so I'm sticking around close to Austin. I actually have a job at a big 'ol bakery but Its starting to cramp my style. I'm living with friends and family since I just can't justify renting an empty apartment (I have no belongings) for another 4 months before I leave again.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't listen to anything I say.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I got on couch surfing here specificaly to facilitate locating places for me to stop on my spring bike trip to Santa Cruz CA. Mostly I hope to camp but a hot shower and a place to cook up a big pot of beans every so often would be nice. I hope you don't think I'm selfish but hey, I'm sort of homeless myself. I will have absolutely no problem welcoming couchsurfing friends into my home (if and when I ever have one).

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I am couchsurfing right now. Granted, I'm in Austin so I have lots of friends whom I already knew that I'm staying with. Plus a mom and a sister.

Interests

Good Beer (and brewing it), good food (and cooking it), skateboarding, cycling, nightlife, music, rock climbing, swimming, camping, chopping wood, clicking my heels together three times, trying to learn golf, healing quickly, wearing sandals, wearing rubber boots, making rock sculptures, fishing, hiking, giving/getting hugs to/from my friends.

Music, Movies, and Books

These guys and a bunch of others:

Larry McMurtry, Garry Jennings, Kurt Vonnegut, Yann Martel, Benjamin Kunkel, Gore Vidal, Tom Robbins

Too much music, From the Lucky Stars to Shipping news to Arcade Fire to David Bowie to Wayne Hancock...etc.

Sadly I never get to watch good movies for some reason

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I assisted in the removal of a 10' shark from a gill net recently. thats the only 'amazing' thing coming to mind at the moment.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you how to play G C and D and how to say thank you in Polish. These are two examples of my scattered limited knowlege. Seriously though, I know how to fix VW Bosch VE37 Rotary injection pumps, I make good beans. I make good beer (I know some stuff about beer), I know ALOT about biodiesel, I can tie some cool knots, and I can teach you how to ollie.
I do not watch TV ever so we will not be able to discuss the latest episode of LOST.

Y yo quiero aprender espanol por favor.
