My name is Babu Thapa. I was born in Tanahu District, Ghansikuva-8, Chhirkan which lies midway on the Prithivi highway, between the Kathmandu and Pokhara. It is one of a picturesque place that still retains its beauty with eye holding nature and has much of its cultural and historical background. So, I consider one of the providential people to be a member of such a natural place. I was born as a son of Nath Bahadur Thapa and Maya Thapa with two older siblings named Deepa Thapa and Madhu Thapa.
Education and Business
I started my schooling in ‘Shree Saraswati Sadan Secondary School’, Maibal, Tahanu. After schooling I came to Kathmandu for higher education. I joined +2 at ‘Manamohan Memorial College’, Sorakhutte, Kathmandu. Completing +2 with good marks, I joined Bachelor in Social Sciences and Humanities in the same college. During those days I used to work in a books store as a part time job. During my working days I discover many things which were useful to onset an appreciable business. It was my first experience and a measure towards my own business.
I attended my Master Degree on Rural Development (RD) and Master Degree in Public administration (MPA) from Tribhuwan University, Kritipur, Kathmandu. Study was my prime concern so I gave an unlimited time on study than the works. But this city where the earning is necessary to live a delightful life and responsibilities towards my family, I started my own business in Thamel named as ‘Festoon’, (www.hotelfestoon.com), also engaged in a Travel agency named as ‘Jatra Travels’ (www.JatraTravels.com). Including, I am associated with Tanahu Tourism Promotion Society (TTPS) as a Secretary.
