I am a guy from France (Rennes at the moment, before that Toulouse and Paris). I don't have a school or a job at the moment, but I am actively militating in a collective in my city to obtain housing for everybody, and a little less actively looking for a job in catering, where I worked before.
I love to travel, even though I didn't have a lot of occasions to do it recently, particularly in the northern countries. I already went to Denmark, Sweden and Norway a long time ago, and would like to go back, and I also would really like to discover Finland, Iceland, and maybe one day Alaska and northern Canada.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am on couchsurfing.com because it combines the two things I love most when I travel : meeting new people and not spending a lot of money. I created my account a long time ago, but never really used it until now (february 2019) because I always used the accounts of my girlfriend or of some friends when travelling.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
I listen to a lot of different styles, but I have a big preference for punk and loud music in general. From old school classics like the Clash, Wire or The Stooges to more recent bands (Odio, G.L.O.S.S or S-21 to name a few). I also really got into hip hop recently (Aesop Rock).

Movies
A whole lot of them. I wouldn't be able to list my favourites, but here are a few of them I really love : Brazil, Oldboy, Frank, Seven Samurai, The Raid, Mary Poppins, The Rocky Horror Picture Show, The Little Shop Of Horrors...

Books
There are only two kinds of books I really read : science fiction and essays about anthropology, politics or history, particularly about the history of rebellions, revolutions and wars of independence.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I almost got killed by rhinos while driving in South Africa. My friends and I were in a minivan, the road was taking a sharp right turn, we turned and the driver abruptly stopped. A pack of rhinos where sleeping on the road and we woke them up. They got up and started to scratch the dust with their legs and blow smoke out of their nostrils. The driver backep up but we got stuck against a tree. The 5-6 rhinos started to circle us and turn around the van, bumping into it with their horns from time to time. Eventually after 10 minutes of staying still and holding our breath, they finally left.
