I believe in kindness, in the addictive variety and depth of the world, and in the chance to make things better (for oneself and others). Everything else is really just a consequence.
"A human being should be able to change a diaper, plan an invasion, butcher a hog, conn a ship, design a building, write a sonnet, balance accounts, build a wall, set a bone, comfort the dying, take orders, give orders, cooperate, act alone, solve equations, analyze a new problem, pitch manure, program a computer, cook a tasty meal, fight efficiently, die gallantly. Specialization is for insects."
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I've hosted and been hosted, but as someone who stops for weeks or months in a place, I'm mostly interested in it as one of the ways to connect with the local life.
Smart nomadism. Dancing/researching/teaching Tango. Martial arts. Portrait photography. Technology in support of meaning and of the greater good. Meditation and positive psychology. Foreign languages, language pedagogy and acquisition techniques.
Music, Movies, and Books
The Little Prince. Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance. Call of the Wild.
Fabrizio de André, Leonard Cohen, Vienna Teng, Carlos di Sarli, Joni Mitchell, ... too much to list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Solo touring the Seven Lakes route in Northern Patagonia on a single-speed folding bike.
Transforming any kind of spots, for three minutes and with cooperative friends, into dance places: bus stop, markets, airport lounges, trains.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can get you started in (or help you improve your) Tango in a fun and dynamic way, without boring, mechanical repetition of steps.
I can teach or help with many computer topics, from elite programming (my profession of 10+ years), to giving online presence to your projects, getting your initiatives connected to their audience, etc.
I can help you practice the two languages I'm fluent in, English and Italian.
I have a general interest in language and language acquisition, so if you speak any language I don't speak at all, I'm very interested in learning at least the basics!
