She who must be obeyed says I'm well read but a poor speller. I work in Christchurch but try and spend at least two days a week in Temuka (20min north of Timaru) where I have a "man cave" If you are planing on hitching a ride south to Timaru or Geraldine I could be worth a call. The best way to contact me is to text me at 0211447677.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
As a property manager I often have access to a couch or two, I'm getting old and sometime would appreciate an extra hand for the odd job. But quite apart from that I enjoy intelligent conversation and I believe the banter and teasing of foreign travellers and people leading different lifestyles somehow enriches me.
Interests
I spent several years as a cook on the DSIR research Ship TANGAROA , Have catered for folk festivals, weddings funerals and birthday parties.
started and ran a bush band for several years.
Music, Movies, and Books

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I have cooked by way of demonstration for 80 people in an hour creating enough food to feed them at the conclusion.
Teach, Learn, Share
I would like to brush up my celestial navigation. Play banjo guitar mandolin and Irish squeeze box better than I currently do.
What I Can Share with Hosts
Happy to share most things. Home grown vegetables fruit and flowers in season, Have a good working knowledge of Christchurch and Surrounds.
I appreciate any help I can get but I also like my guest to enjoy their stay in Christchurch and appreciate the great bounty our country has to offer.
Many couchsurfers seem to be focused on spending as little money as possible and their mission is one of survival not enjoyment. They eat poorly take little interest in ticketed attractions and purchase vehicles that do not comply with our freedom camping rules. They are not fun to host and generally arrive with a hard luck story and require assistance way beyond the accommodation offered. If your mission is to exist on a shoestring at the expense of others then please give me a miss.
Countries I’ve Visited
Australia, Fiji, New Caledonia, Norfolk Island, Samoa, Tonga
