To search out interesting perspectives.
I have just completed a grad dip in Psychology, so i thought i would take a break to celebrate in europe. I have never been to Amsterdam or many of the northern cities of europe, so this is my time.
I experienced such generosity from couch surfers I stayed with or just meet over the last 3 months in Europe, I'm in a situation where I can offer my couch up again.
However before you email me it's vital that you know that for me couch surfing is not about a free bed for the night, it's about meeting and engaging new perspectives on life. If your interested in analytical conversations on any topic and want to see my perspective of Melbourne then request away.
I can only host one surfer at a time, also if you want me to accept your request, please find something we have in similar and included it in the email.
I like to think outside the box, I like to understand what's inside the box from outside the box and inside the box, I like to move the box around. I enjoy a challenge.
I guess I am a complicated mess who enjoys the open road. I like the immediacy that travelling has, it hits you. You need to be open and on your guard, friendly but not naive and engaged with the surrounding mayhem ,spells, smalls, sounds and tastes and then you will have left 'normality' behind and hopefully with that be able to put life into perspective.
The openness about travelers, drives me to the airport. Open to new ideas, people, experience and adventures.
Treat ever moment as if its your last, and as if the moment will last forever.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To have out of the ordinary conversations with people I would have otherwise never met.
Exploring the human psyche - when I am not working on paying the rent. I am a big fan of reading in parks, adventures in parks, irony splashed with truth, isolating myself in my music while traversing Melbourne's' public transport system, eating raw vegetables and long meandering conversations about the human psyche, of course.
Music, Movies, and Books
Movies: there are so many i don't know where to start. i like independent and foreign movies. everything from science of sleep, Fire, eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, YES, look both ways, good bye lenin, into the wild, the edge of heaven.
TV shows: west wing, black books, the wire.
Books: to be honest i have had problems finishing books lately, my masters thesis has monopolised all of my time. now that i have finished, i can't wait to dive into all my unfinished books. i have the name of the rose, jump cuts, atomised, Wuthering heights and kant and the platypus, stacked next to my bed.
Some very interesting non fiction authorise that i have read lately include: Peter Gowan, Benjamin Cohen, Seabrooke, Triffin, Eichengreen. ok i will stop now before i bore you.
Music: eclectic, currently listening to radiohead, the doors, Powderfinger, bob dylan, sound track from Amelie, Camile and portishead and tacy chapman. ooohhh also the eagles. To be honest the music that i listen to changes with my mood. I like everything from jazz to country music, drum and base to classical. everything is good.
