About Me

If armageddon is not an issue (i would of course be part of the crew chosen to savetheworld from immanent explosion...) then I can concentrate on my current project of making people laugh from the incredible amount of rubbish that i speak

I am currently living in Hong Kong and have been for the past 6 months on exchange from Manchester UK- This stems from an attempt to get the most out of 3 years of studying, Especially when they tell you are actually allowed to leave the country for 6months to find amazing new people/experiences/food/languages....(they dont realise its a very very long holiday.....!!!)

I am probably still recovering from a year at art college which may explain why sometimes I will ask VERY annoying questions like 'What is the nature of this material? ...Its bread, as its a pizza...'O wow, thats really interesting, it has a great texture' :)

Things I am passionate about (in the shortest possible sentence) would be music, friends, and laughing

I have:

a younger brother (wer just past that stage of beating eachother up)

a springer spaniel (who will NEVER be tired, no matter how many times you chuck that bloody tennis ball)

a couple of meals I can cook very well (risotto, thai green curry, vegetable pie and of course a full english breakfast!!!!)

a tendency to talk rubbish (i may have already said this)

an old japanese camera that I still cant work properly but refuse to buy an easier one....(all my photos are blurred so you never have to worry about looking bad!)

My personal philosophy would be not believing in boredom, and never stop learning from people and experiences (is that a bit cheesy?!!) :)

Miniskirt knitting takes up alot of my time these days so while I used to like: travelling, meeting people, parties, cooking vegetable risottos, beaches, going to second hand book shops, listening to music, buying vinyl, dancing ridiculously at all times to all kinds of music (the more ridiculous the better), sketching and photography in a vain attempt to record my travels, swimming in lakes/the sea....the bath, going to festivals and campaigning to bring back the telegram (whatever happened to the telegram, all the STOPS made it so much more exciting!) unfortunately now I devote most of my time to clothing teddies...

(I cant actually knit at all although very eager to learn....thus all of the above sums up my current activities!)

Music, Movies, and Books

This is a good moment to explain what I get sometimes overly excited about;

Best Live moment: At Glastonbury Festival 2007 seeing a tiny icelandic lady running excitedly around the stage (bjork)

Have been dancing violently around my room (probably singing into a hair brush) before I go out since I was 16 to: THE PIXIES, The Smiths, The Jesus and Marychain, Jimi Hendrix, Lee Perry

When I'm tired: Nick Drake, Ali Farke Toure, Nina Simone

When I'm tired... but I should really just dance : Acid induced music from the 70's in Brazil, Caetano Veloso, Gal Costa, Os Muantes and the rest

When I want to wear sunglasses at night in an embarassing way: Gui Boratto, Trentmoller, Ricardo Velloboso, Pilooski, FC Kahuna

A Favorite Book: The Old Man and the Sea, Hemingway
A Favorite Film: The Bicycle Thief & Drop Dead Fred !!!!
A Favorite Quote: You cant rely on your eyes when your imagination is out of focus

Teach, Learn, Share

Story Telling! Stories are the best way to learn, with a drink, by a campfire, on the way to the supermarket, you learn most about somebody through their stories
