About Me

To live in joy, hope and abundance. To create a world where ALL live in hope, joy, and abundance.

I live in the present, enjoying every experience to the fullest. I love meeting people, learning from them and being present in their light and sharing mine. I love to smile and laugh. I love music - listening to beautiful lyrics, feeling the beats and rythms. I love dancing - it makes me deeply happy.

I love the outdoors, especially the beach. I am a recent discoverer of hiking & I love it. I enjoy the awe inspiring feeling that fills me when I see the beauty of Mother Nature - the oceans, the mountains, rivers, lakes, beaches, forests, jungles, animals, etc. I love to stop , stare and bask in the say a prayer of gratitude for the opportunity to see such beauty.

I love people, all kinds of people. I believe that everyone is beautiful & has beauty to share with the world. I love listening to people's stories - funny ones, sad ones, deeps ones. I learn so much when I listen.

I love to read. Reading has a way of transporting into another world, another experience, into the life of another person or being. As a young person reading introduced me to a world so different from my own, to people with experiences that i could not imagine. This made me become curious about other people and places.

I am a citizen of the world. I love to travel.

I recently moved to Hawaii on the island of Maui. I love it.

Enjoy this adventure called life. I only have one and I want it to be good, fun, and worth talking about.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My friend told me about CouchSurfing as she travelled through Southeast Asia and Australia. She had great experiences & I hope to as well!

I have surfed couches & floors since I could remember just now using CouchSurfing!

So far my experience with CS has been opening my account, leaving it empty for 6 months, and now (6 months later) returning to finally fill out the about me sections. I did attend a CS picnic when I was in Argentina!

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all of Paulo Coelho's books and writings
I love poetry - especially poems about love, resistance, people's struggle, social justice
I love good stories.
I like smart movies... occasionally I go for entertainment purposes only & I enjoy those too.
I like foreign films most of all.

My music tastes as eclectic. I most connect with Spanish language music but I love all good music! Lately I have been loving Reggae and Jawaiian and Native Hawaiian music but that has to do with the fact that I live in Hawaii. I am currently diggin' Cultura Profetica, Thievery Corporation, Manu Chao, Sergio Mendes, Sharon Jones & the Dapp Kings, Calle 13 and a few others. I love OG Shakira, Bebe, Alejandra Guzman, and other lady singers. Silvio Rodriguez, Mercedes Sosa, Violeta Parra, and other Latina American resistance singers have a special place in my heart. I love to dance to cumbias, reggae, merengue, hiphop, and sometimes pop dance music. LOL! I can't be perfect!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I organized a people's campaign to stop the world's riches mining company form building a dangerous & polluting (experimental) project in my community. WE WON!

I have backpacked solo through Mexico, Guatemala, Argentina, & Peru. I have traveled to 15 different countries so far.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have been an active member of the Social Justice community in California & have participated in state and national reform campaigns. I am a community organizer and love working with people & teaching/mentoring people interested in learning the craft of building people's organizations and movements.
