Hey! I’m Becs, and I love exploring new places, meeting new people, experiencing new cultures, and hearing what makes you get out of bed in the morning! I am interested in pretty much everything and want to do all the things, all the time, all at once!
My work has so far led me to the UK, Greece, Madagascar, and Australia, and I have been living in NZ for a couple of years now – a beautiful country full of such beautiful people! I am here for another year or two yet, but I am also excited to see where I may end up next!
I believe very much in a work-hard, play-hard philosophy and will try almost anything once!
Tell me, what is it you plan to do with your one wild and precious life? – Mary Oliver
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Can’t get enough – the people, the places and the stories! Am an active member of the Auckland CS community (my Auckland family!) and have met so many incredible people through events, drinks, and adventures.
Some of the most interesting people I have ever met.
Originally a marine biologist, I came to Auckland to study for a PhD in interdisciplinary conservation science and social-ecological systems. In a nutshell, I am exploring how different people think about conservation, collaboration, and combined environmental and social outcomes! I am very interested in environmental, community, and social good projects.
Other than that, I also love adventures, roadtrips, camping, tramping, hiking, beaches, the sea, forests, mountains, swimming, snorkelling, SCUBA diving, live music, laughing, drinking, street food, travelling, sharing stories, reading, writing, learning, moocs, street art, photo-journalism, theatre, yoga, and dancing (I dance badly, but enthusiastically!)
I can listen to anyone, for hours, about anything, if their eyes light up when they talk about the thing they love.
Music, Movies, and Books
Music I am listening to at the moment:
First Aid Kit
(and a song that always makes me smile)
Favourite movie: Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind
As for the book I am reading, add me on Goodreads
