ABOUT ME

I am a tall athletic Australian lady-girl in her mid thirties with a teenage son, and a PhD. (Pow Pow!!) My son lives with his father now to finish off his final two years at school so I am now free to roam the earth. Not that I was spoilt for travel before. My son and I travelled plenty since he was 6 months old wrapped in swaddling clothes and thrown on my back; we have spent most of out time in Indonesia, working in the arts on all sides of the fence, working with all kinds of communities, starting all sorts of trouble as director, writer, producer, facilitator. I run an artist run space warehouse in inner city Sydney - we are a community of approximately 11 interdisciplinary artists. We are all active in producing independent and underground culture in Sydney. I also runa small library of independent small press, am part of a spaceranging group which tries to capture empty buildings in the city for occupation, and am trying to raise money to build 12 yurts on a wasteland site in Sydney. Just for fun.

PHILOSOPHY

Exchange values can be determined outside of finance capitalism. Starting a new exchange of value, starting with couches! Looking to examples of sustainable independent communities who make shared resources a priority, live happy and work hard to cooperate. Making time for things not valued by consumer economy which preferences the expedient and the predictable. Living life as it should be; with lots of colour and unexpected moments, and always with time to reflect.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have stayed on couches across LA, SF, DETROIT, NEW YORK, BROOKLYN, JAKARTA, YOGYAKARTA, BANDUNG, SINGAPORE, KL, MAZUNTE, DF, GUANAJUATO, LONDON.

兴趣

Architecture, the practice of everyday life, contemporary dance theatre, oral histories, radio, big fat novels, site specific art, interventions, crazy wild animals, films, writing, writing, writing. Good looking conversation and a glass of robust Australian Shiraz!
