About Me

CURRENT MISSION

walkabout/expanding my palate of life and global experience**...seeking adventure, friendship, fun, knowledge, wisdom, new culture and communities**i love to share, trade and give my time and energy in exchange for expeditions or places to stay**

ABOUT ME

if you would prefer, contact me by email at- teaorangimarie@gmail.com

I am a funloving, outgoing woman in my thirties- something of a free Spirit and subversive Soul ;)-born and raised in Aotearoa New Zealand, . I am currently traveling in Central America, on my way home after years living in Canada and the USA. For about 8 years now (overseas and in Aotearoa), that has pretty much become my lifestyle and I fit work, education and play of all kinds right there into it! :)

I believe that all of my travels in the world, near or far from my home, are full of experience, growth, immediate and real circumstance in the moment, varied encounters and all the people and other life I can learn from and exchange creation*energy*ideas with. I am very active and keen on building a Global Community or Tribe of people who believe in celebrating life!, love, peace, fun!, treasures, conscious thought and a way of living that sustains all life on the planet, treating it with honour, protection and acknowledgment, and celebrating those many blessings we have all around us. However I am not closed to or disinterested in connecting with any individual (of varied lifestyles, background, creed, ethnicity), in fact I am just as into it because I believe as human beings we can always find common ground to get along some way and more importantly, teach and challenge each other in a healthy way. I believe the more we all interact outside of our comfort zone and that which we know, the more we can evolve, grow and gain as individuals, and therefore collectively as divine consciousness. I love a life of sharing, collaborating, creating, discussion, solace, organising to improve our lives, festivals-swimming/dancing/music/art. I love exploring the outdoors both summer and winter- mountains, rivers, prairies, oceans, tundra/desert alike! I LOVE weather and geology (nerd alert!?)

I am all about manifesting/receiving and building on both spiritual and practical skills and teachings and I love meeting new earthlings all around the globe!@ We are simply friends/tribe who have not physically met yet and I look forward to you all :) Life is a wonderful and unique blessing...live it up!

Peace**Arohanui**Rangimarie**Mauri ora!

PHILOSOPHY

*We are all one connected, loving Creation with much to teach and learn from each other. and... LOVE truly is all there is, you don't have to be a hippy to live it :)

Everything happens for the better of my life experience.

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I really like the idea of Couchsurfing because it encourages people to build and participate in community of face-to-face connection, beyond tv, internet, cellphones, work and school and whether you travel or not, you have the chance to meet many new people outside those in your immediate community or friends you grew up with.

Tis so wonderful for globetrotters/gypsies/wanderers and all visitors to have reciprocal exchange and the opportunity to stay with locals rather than in hostels or hotels...isolated or only with other travelers. Then they may have the chance to host later cos that's what the exchange is all about. And the exchange is endless...there is so much magic that can happen. Truly, connections have always been made this way and homes opened to visitors, forever and ever and it can happen in many ways...I am just so happy this online network of CS is here and it is so well put together and utilized- it is a great tool for a wide diversity of folks from all around the world to enjoy and share in it :) I believe in my work and path pursuing, connecting and continually building up the *global community*- along with sharing the vision, love and power of it! A hau. It really is my main motivation behind traveling or 'walkabout'. For those who are dwelling in one place, the world comes to you! And many characters of it. I support and believe in the reciprocity- that we can host or stay depending on our different or changing circumstances, and the exchange/teaching/enjoyment is endless**

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I LOVE it! I have only been hooked up here with CS since i left NZ for Canada and the USA but I have also traveled and had all iinds of similar 'couchsurfing' experiences for years. Infact most of my homes in my adult life have had something of an open-door policy, often full of guests and visitors constantly- local or from around the world. I love to meet new people of all types, both those that have traveled many places or maybe just spent a lot of time getting to know a homeplace well. I believe in the lifestyle, love it and live it :) *My 1st experience with CS.org back in 2007 was great- My (now) friends in Edmonton, AB took me in temporarily and then decided to rent a room to me while I studied at the University there. I lived with Corey, Alberta and Una for 4.5 months and really enjoyed it. I was also able to meet a couple of other couchsurfers they hosted while I was in the city. *CS.org (or generally meeting people, sharing life stories and hosting or spending time socially) is less about staying with people for me and more about meeting and sharing with groups of CS folk in an area- it's so cool to have that when you travel to a place you know no one initially and then to gain inspiration and ideas for that area, or other places people have traveled. *I love this CS community and all the people that are here and make it what it is. I really look forward to opening my home to host when I return to Aotearoa NZ again :) A new role and a chance to give much back.

Interests

Too many to list really but my "all about you" gives some clues** and... ***i am interested in almost anything new that I have never experienced: new people, new cultures, the outdoors, indoor crafts and games, cooking, gardening, growing and raising food and materials I need to sustain myself and others in my community, dancing in the sun and the rain... on the earth with barefeet, naked on the beach, standing out on cliff/mountain-tops in the wind, building/creating, making music and singing, most things that involve connection/creation of and between myself, other spirits and the blessedEarth***

Music, Movies & Books

Lots of all the above!?! Fantasy books for sure. Documentaries plus indie, festival and art house films are my favourites. and old black and white movies :) Music...wow! almost everything except commercial pop!?

One Amazing Thing I've Done

The incredible Andes mountains viewed from a special scenic detour on a airplane on a beatific, clear day!!! ...and the Canadian Rockies too, from hiking and snowboarding proximity! OOh, also viewing the Aurora Borealis from a WWOOF farm in Golden, BC, Canada.
