Finding out what I really want in life...
I'm an outgoing, friendly, fun-loving and uncomplicated, though sometimes also serious guy. I'm always up for new experiences and like to explore, debate and meet people. It's great to consider another point of view or even perspective on the world.
I am a student of economics in the great city of Berlin, where I moved about three years ago, however, I'm still in the process of discovering new places.
I have a diverse range of interests. I like to do - rather than watch - sports, I am interested in and like to debate politics, philosophy and history, I really enjoy cooking - if there is a good recipe you can show me please do so. Recently, I got more into arts, especially photography. As far music is concerned, I enjoy jazz, classical and electronic - though I will also listen to the occasional pop song.
I volunteer as youth leader at orientation seminars for exchange students with the organization YFU ("Youth for Understanding"). I was a high school exchange student myself, which was one of the most transformative experiences I've had.
Last year I quit my job and travelled three months through Asia which was one of the best things I've ever done. I travelled with no preconceived plan - I just had a one-way ticket to Bangkok - and I travelled all by myself. Even though I love my friends, since then I strongly believe in the art of solo travelling - not only is one way more spontaneous but I found myself so much more open to other people.
Get over yourself and push yourself out of your comfort zone. Seek new experiences. Never stop learning. Cherish freedom. Your most valueable thing is your attention and your time - choose wisely who and what you give it to. You only have two lifes: the second one starts after you realize you only have one.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
Surfing & hosting & meeting
The most rewarding experiences are often the ones that come unexpected, the ones that you have to drag yourself out of your comfort zone. They are the ones when you actually plan to just stay in and do something quiet but then some opportunity comes up and you take it even though you are sceptical at first. These can be experiences of meeting amazing people for the first time and finding out you get along just great. These can also be experiences in that you go out with good friends and you have the greatest fun in a long time because you just know it is great to have people in your life that you know you can trust with anything. And they can be experiences in that you go on that midnight hike in the woods and reach the mountain top right at sun rise...
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I consider myself very lucky that there are too many amazing experiences to write them all down here. I will say though that travel is usually very dense in unique moments!
Teach, Learn, Share
