CURRENT MISSION

I am in Shanghai and my lease is about to run out. I need to stay in town until the 20th of August to finish two contracts for my agent. I can help with rent or bills, too.

ABOUT ME

My name is Ben Robertson and I am an American male of thirty years of age. I'm not gay, but I have many friends who are and I'm not interested in being sleazy or weird. You can trust me, and if you decide to meet me I think you'll realize this sooner than later. I have lived in Shanghai for almost two years now and know my way around well enough. Currently, I am completing contracts for my agent that will end by the 20th of August and volunteering at an art gallery on Moganshan Rd. (M50). I don't work everyday, but I don't like to just sit around home either. I'm an artist and I like to cook a lot. I can cook many different types of dishes and many better than restaurants you may like. I smoke, but never inside, and I like to keep a tidy home.

PHILOSOPHY

I like to support those I can and hope to help more as I become more able to. I keep a mostly open mind and I don't like to subject others to my opinions or philosophies.

I'm a newbie, but I have coach-surfed with friends in the US. I was not a part of this organization then, but I had a wonderful experience.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like more 'masculine' cinema generally, but I can totally get down with any type of entertainment. As far as I'm concerned, if I haven't seen or heard of it, it deserves a fair go. I like almost any genre or type of music and have a large digital collection to boot. I like to read.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've mediated and stopped bar fights, enjoyed cliff-diving, donated artwork to a museum collection, worked on automated electronic systems, been a bartender, chef, swanky server, developed four books, saved two cats from bad lives, advised many friends in time of crises, played drums in two bands and one show-choir, fixed countless issues with homes and apartments I've lived and stayed in due to my contracting experience, etc.
