Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm looking forward to participating in the Denver, CO Couchsurfing scene.
I've met some people passing through Chicago when I lived there & checked out a local CS event. So far I've surfed in Iowa, Nebraska & Istanbul. I recently relocated to Denver, CO in Sept 2013 & have been to one weekly CS meet-up so far. I'm looking forward to hosting other travelers once I get settled in my new place.
I love dancing - especially contact improvisation, movies, hiking & communing with nature, riding my bike, yoga, live music, reading, singing, trying new things, philosophizing and meeting & getting know new people. I'd love to do more SCUBA diving.

Music, Movies, and Books
One of my main musical influences when younger was the Grateful Dead, so I enjoy jam bands (Phish, Allman Bros., etc.). But I also enjoy a wide range of music - anything that moves my soul, makes me want to dance, or makes me want to chill & relax. Lately, I've been enjoying classical & jazz. Probably the only music I don't care for is heavy metal, punk or any music that's discordant, really loud & angry and/or involves people screaming & yelling. Many times I simply enjoy no music at all & just the soundscape of life.
A few of my favorite movies: Matrix trilogy, Contact, Almost Famous, Hairspray (the recent version), musical movies with Gene Kelley (man, that guy could dance!), Lord of the Rings, Hero, Green Mile, Intouchables, Dead Poet's Society, Shawshank Redemption, and almost any movie with a superhero.
Books: fantasy (Terry Brooks novels, Harry Potter, Game of Thrones) and books about philosophy (Esther Veltheim, Ramesh Balsekar, etc), Jungian psychology (James Hollis, Robert Johnson), Consciousness, quantum physics & health. Some of the more influential books in my life: Ishmael, Siddhartha, Quantum Healing, The Road Less Traveled, Celestine Prophecy, The BodyTalk System, Beyond Concepts, Who Am I?, Duet of One.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I taught English as a second language as a U.S. Peace Corps Volunteer in rural Kenya from '93-'95. Many amazing things I saw & did within this one life experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
I'm an Advanced Certified BodyTalk Instructor & Practitioner & teach workshops around the US & internationally. I'd be happy to teach you a few simple techniques.
I wish I could say I can cook you a nice meal, but I'm not much of a cook. I'd be happy to provide a bottle of wine, some beer or other beverage or 420 to go with a home-cooked meal. Or treat us to dessert!
