About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Finishing my latest book, then getting stuck into the next startup

ABOUT ME

Lately all-consumed by everything to do with entrepreneurship.

And writing a book on language learning strategy - which is gonna be awesome :P

PHILOSOPHY

For the most part, I myself am fairly liberal. By that I mean life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness - live and let live. Wherever an ideology leads though, I need it to be practical to be believable. May liberty rule. Love a good discussion/debate on these matters - I love to hear out differing viewpoints and don't worry, I won't get offended (or, hopefully, be offensive).

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have surfed a few times, but have been too itinerant to host so far! Hope to rectify that at the earliest opportunity.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed five times in total, in Switzerland, France, Canada and USA. Love it!

Interests

Mountain biking, hiking, whitewater kayaking. I once bought a paraglider but never used it so hocked it off to my younger brother. Pretty pre-occupied with other things at the moment, and also, in Shanghai, where whitewater, for example, is somewhat lacking!

Music, Movies, and Books

I read a lot more since getting a kindle (love it).
Stephen Pressfield's 'The War of Art' is killing it for my right now. Great book.
I read a lot of non-fiction, business-related books. I liked include Karl Taro Greenfeld's 'China Syndrome' on the SARS epidemic, the autobiography of Benjamin Franklin, and anything and everything by Bill Bryson. And, of course 'The little price' - which is of course also non-fiction.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Went to travelling in Asia by myself when I was 17. Cycled about 3000km through 8 countries in Europe in 30 days.

Driving clear across the Great Plains of USA in one 16 hour Coke (-a-Cola) fueled epic.

Countries I’ve Visited

Oman, Syrian Arab Republic, Thailand

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, China, Ireland, New Zealand, South Korea, Viet Nam
