Pursuing the unknown, Living in the moment, and following my heart whereever it flutters to
FIrst of all, thank you for taking the time to check my profile out, I really appreciate it! So here's a little bit about myself. I probably will be one of the goofiest, clumsiest, kind-hearted person you can ever meet. I feel like there's never a dull moment in my life since I live for spontaneous crazy adventures and making the most of every opportunity.
In fact, two years ago I dropped everything in Virginia to move to Texas and start my first real adventure out on my own. From there I found myself needing more meaning more adventure in my life and so last year I served as an AmeriCorps NCCC team leader and truly experienced the joy of traveling meeting new people, and forming long lasting friendships with strangers. I fell in love with every community I served and recognized the need to help others and especially get to know the locals. I've led teams working with Habitat in Mississippi to assisting in tornado relief efforts in Alabama to mentoring and tutoring kids in Louisiana and well, I just couldn't keep myself from serving one more year this time as an AmeriCorps construction crew lead in Austin, Texas striving towards affordable housing. So ultimately I can say that I am a very fortunate person, respectful and mindful of others, aware of social inequalities and the necessary steps for positive social change like individuals making a choice to volunteer, to help someone out, or to simply be a friend. WIth all that being said I've started a chapter of my life that I would absolutely love to continue...I'm so ready to "let the good times roll!!"
So "where there''s a will there's always a way." Never give up on big dreams with a little hope and a lot of hard work, persistence can go a long way! It's always best to learn through experience and with that always remember "Hakuna Matata" - there are no worries.
