About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Internship at a wilderness expedition company, hoping to get a job as a wilderness therapist. Then will travel the states visiting friends in the Fall of 2014.
ABOUT ME
I don't even know what to say here. Just finding myself in my 30's. Am I alone in that? :) I'm open-minded, understanding and empathetic. I'm trying to learn to love and be as patient with myself as I am towards others. I love truly getting to know people. Small talk is hard for me unless it's segueing into deeper more connected communication - though I'm trying to get better at it. My favorite thing is hearing people's life stories and getting to know them.
PHILOSOPHY
I'm still learning what I think about life....and the human experience. I do know that we gotta heal ourselves, and be loving and positive to ourselves. And I gotta grow past what ever has held me back so far in life, by positive thinking, by believing in yourself, by loving yourself. Harder to do than I wish it were - but that's what makes it real, and that's what makes it "work," I suppose. ;)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
I'm about to make a cross country road trip visiting friends. And sometimes the stretch between friends is too long to drive straight through. I will be passing through amazing towns I've never been to! (Nashville & Memphis, TN. Flagstaff & Prescott, AZ.) I'm hoping this will be a good way to meet new people and see the town throughout the eyes of someone who's been there :)
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
I haven't done it yet!
Interests
I love the outdoors. I worked at an organic vegetable farm for 2 years and loved it. I love garlic. I love food, especially when I've earned it. I don't like to exercise for the sake of exercising but I love outdoor activities like hardcore hikes and backpacking. I'm learning to rock climb this summer. About to head out on a 3 month internship with a wilderness expedition company where I will learn more of the mountaineering hard skills I lack. Hoping to move into wilderness therapy after that.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Went to school in the middle of the redwoods.
Worked on an organic vegetable farm.
About to do an awesome wilderness internship.
Was present at the home-birth of one of my best friend's first born.
Was at my father's side when he took his last breath.
(These two experiences were oddly 6 months apart)
