Making the most of a 1/3 life crisis by taking a break from work to travel, volunteer and spend time with loved ones.
I've been living in New Zealand for nearly 10 years and love it there. I grew up in a small town in western Massachusetts and still have friends and family there, so I visit as much as I can. I didn't study the right things to end up working on environmental issues, so I feel exceptionally lucky that's how things have turned out. I'm really close with my family and am so grateful my parents are healthy and happy, as well as my brother and two sisters. Last year I split from my NZ husband but am very lucky to have found the real Mr Right already and have learned a lot from the experience.
All of the unplanned and wonderful things that have happened in my life have instilled in me a deep appreciation for the mysteries of life and the goodness you can find in pretty much everyone and every situation if you're willing.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm new to this but in my travels I've stayed with host families and various friends, always adapting fine to their style.
I play heaps of ultimate frisbee, some football/soccer, have just started playing gaelic football, and love the outdoors and travel. I listen to all kinds of music, read pretty much anything but especially sci-fi, and love board games and drinking games as well as simply having good conversation over a beer.

Music, Movies, and Books
It's pretty difficult to find something I won't like!
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I've been lucky to have numerous great experiences and travels, but the most rewarding is my most recent - I've just come back from volunteering in an orphanage in Cameroon.
