ABOUT ME

I've been accused of being an 'easy-laugh' by friends, that is, I'll usually laugh at any joke I hear. I think it's true and is definitely a positive - I enjoy engaging with people in a fun way and building relationships through laughter.

I'm embarking on my first solo trip in September and I'm looking forward to the wealth of new experiences it will bring. I'm easy-going, but like to have plans so I feel like I'm making the most out of wherever I am, that's my initial approach to my trip, to have plans but feel relaxed if I want to change them.

Please note: I am aware London is expensive - I live here. Giving this as the reason for wanting to couchsurf in your request is not good enough for me! It's not about money - it's about people.

Interests

I like to scuba dive when I'm in the climate for it, I love the outdoors, both rurally and being outdoors in cities, exploring the scenery and landscape or the architecture and history. I don't think there is anything better than those deep chats that come from one and a half glasses of wine. I've just graduated from university, I studied English Language and Politics so it follows that I'm interested in languages, I love learning new idioms or hearing about little quirks in different languages, and in politics and different political models as well as the sociology that exists behind those political models.
I don't pretend to be an expert but I do love art, experiencing it, then learning about it, to not cloud my judgement or have any pre conceptions. And I'm interested in videos of babies eating lemons on YouTube.

Music, Movies, and Books

Hitchcocks, 90s teen movies, thought provoking films and documentaries, movies that make you question something, and not just about the film but someone wider about humanity or society. As my young brother says "films where not a lot happens" (I.e not Transformers haha)

A big fan of indie music to dance to, but I love the ballet, and classical music. I'd love to learn salsa, I studied it a bit when I was younger but I'd like to pick it back up.

I don't read half as much as I should, however when I do I'll sit and read a book in a day. I like anything by Jane Austen, or the brontë sisters but also crime and thrillers. I listen to audiobooks a lot, usually every night before sleeping. (If I host you - or visa versa - I'll use headphones I promise!) I like to write more than I read, I like to catalogue my travels, who I've met, a story about them, a poem, a train of consciousness.

I'm not sure I can say, I think people find niche things in each person they meet. Different people bring out different remarkable things in each person. The only guaranteed thing is a smile.
