About Me

Because I had no place I could stay in without getting tired of it and because there was nowhere to go but everywhere, keep rolling under the stars...

I am...
I don't know who i am.
I've been realizing in the past year that I don't really know myself all that well. For someone who has spent a lot of time reading and writing about himself, I'€™ve missed something. The way I think about myself and the world is skewed. I don't know exactly how just yet but I know it'€™s not working.
Through a lot of my reading I've learned that a more postmodern philosophy doesn'€™t buy into a fixed, Cartesian self. Neither does Buddhism. And yet, we are all a bunch of individual souls running around trying to make sense of our individual lives. However you want to define self is up to you. But at some level there is an essence to who we are, I believe, and whether that is fixed or an ongoing relationship of in-the-world beingness doesn'€™t matter to me. Either way, something is missing for me.
I have looked in the areas of psychology. I have looked at religion/spirituality. Yet, I am still lost. I'€™m not saying all my searching is for nothing and that I haven'€™t learned a ton in this time. I have. But something is still missing. I kind of feel like the character in a movie who doesn'€™t see what the audience sees and the audience is on the edge of their seat, wanting the character to see it. I'm not saying others can see completely what I don't, but I feel like it'€™s that close to me, maybe even staring me in the face, but for whatever reason, I just can'€™t look at it.

I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you...we are in charge of our attitudes"
Although we may not be aware of them, we all have personal philosophies that shape how we view the world.
These philosophies color our interpretation of events in our lives--both good and bad--and more importantly, how we respond to those events.
We've all heard some of the more popular philosophies--e.g. when life gives you lemons, make lemonade. But, have you stopped to think about the philosophies that guide and shape your particular worldview?
When life gets hectic, and things don't seem to be going your way, following are some philosophies you can adopt that will indeed, enable you to take those lemons and make the very best lemonade!
