I want to travel to new and fascinating countries, meet new people, and help others as others have helped me in the past. (I also want to find a good ballroom dance partner.)

ABOUT ME

I love eating out and enjoy the company of other individuals. I love travelling and have travelled to about 30 countries. My best memories are of people I've met and their hospitality.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Active member of a local CS group - Bean Around the Block, and looking forward to hosting interesting surfers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have couch surfed one day in Turkey and had a wonderful time with my host. I have stayed in people's homes in Japan, Indonesia, China, Australia and New Zealand while travelling.

Interessi

I like kayaking, cycling, cross-country skiing, gentle hiking and being in nature. I do volunteer work.

Una cosa incredibile che ho fatto

I've kayaked in Alberta, B.C., Quebec, Newfoundland, Alaska, Oregon and Belize. I saw glowing plankton at night while kayaking off Vancouver Island. It looked like a starry sky on the water. I've been fortunate to have seen and done many awe inspiring things.

I can share knowledge of Alberta's culture and geography, places to hike, and good restaurants. I semiretired but teach ESL/EFL on a casual basis and would be happy to host people with limited English or anyone who'd like to improve their English.
I'd like to learn French fluently and to say "I'm sorry I can't speak __" in every language.
