About Me

CURRENT MISSION

top secret!

PHILOSOPHY

hmm have to think about that first...

Why I'm on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

hosting and demanding others to host me

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

yes of course I've had quite a lot of experiences giving me better access to the way of living and culture at the place I've was travelling to.

Interests

Well I guess 'socialising' - I spend most of my time with meeting people and talking with them about this & that, conversing with them about seriuos or unserious things, exchanging profound or senseless thoughts and opinions, making silly jokes, watching films and so on. or partying, drinking a beer or 2.... if possible outside somewhere in a park where we can have a barbecue as well. or we go to a concert or cinema. or I invite friends to my place, cooking or drinking something together - in short, all that you do with friends.
if the weather is fine i play soccer and skate somewhat, not very high-flying but simply for fun.
I also like photography a lot.

and then on the other side I also have to study and work a lot for my phd - it's the nerdy side of my life ;)

and finally I like traveling and getting to know different cultures - ideally by meeting local people.

Music, Movies & Books

the last fiction books that impressed me a lot are by Andre Kaminski, Albert Camus, Mohsin Hamid, Rafik Schami and Kiran Desai.
Another non-fiction book that I highly recommend is "The price of civilization" by J. Sachs.
Some films I like are: exils, waltz with bashir, nader and simin - a separation

One Amazing Thing I've Done

Yes, there are a few things in my life that have been extraordinary and outstanding in many many different areas of my life.
Referring to travelling these things include the landscapes around Hampi in India, the spicy delicious Biryani of Hyderabad, the festive gathering of people on International Workers' Day in Milano, the pastéis de nata in Lisboa, in a very sad way the slums in Mumbai, and then definitely the courtesy and hospitality people welcomed me with in many places of the world.

Teach, Learn, Share

Teach & Learn: language and culture - and anything you ever wanted to know about pharmacy and drugs ;)
I can also show you how to open 2 bottles of beer without any tool or instrument. (and I don't use my teeth either!)
Share: time, conversations, experiences, ideas, food, beer and wine, pasta and pesto...
