About Me

I'm an early retired American Expat Living in Brazil now and traveling the world to get to know as many places, cultures, and people as I can.

Funny, creative, well read. Good sense of humor, easy going.

Live and let live. Share and don't judge (but its ok to laugh).

Remember, its only one of an infinite number of universes, so don't take it so seriously.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I set an example for others. For some, its a good example, others its a "don't do this" example, and for a few its a "RUN! Run very fast! " example.

I've mooched on my friends couch for a week here and there. Does that count? Other than that, stay in lots of hostels, and a couple of home stays for pay in private homes.

Creative people. Unique places. Every new culture I am exposed to.

I read, stare at my lake, travel.

Music, Movies, and Books

I read 1 or 2 books/week. Everything from Sci Fi, to historical fiction, to Quantum Physics. Pretty much anything and everything. Music I mainly like anything Pre Sgt Pepper Beatles, and jazz and classic. I'm developing a like for Brazilian music too.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Hiking up Mauna Ulu vent of the Kilauea Volcano along the east rift zone while it was erupting and staring into the lava lake. I even got kissed by Pele's tears (spattered with lava).

A year doing field geology in Angola, Africa.

Sunrise on the top of Mount Nemrut in Turkey.

Waking up every day to a view of the lake from my home here in Brazil.

Teach, Learn, Share
