ABOUT ME

Nobody wants to read a whole long thing so I'll keep this short and to the point.

I try to find the perfect balance between being overactive and lethargic.

Firefighting has been a major part of my life the past couple years. I enjoy visiting fire departments around the world to meet the firefighters and see how they do things.

I have a large rock and mineral collection following the rules of my rock policy: Rocks within my collection can only be collected by me. I cannot buy a rock or accept one from a friend. You found a rock - it's yours not mine! This way, every rock in my collection has it's own story of how I found it, and what it is.

Whatever you call a guy who is a natural mechanical genius when it comes to working on engines, I am the opposite of that. Once, I took the oil dipstick out to check the oil level. When I put it back, I had three screws left over.

I like grilling meat. Ron Swanson is my personal hero.

My middle initial, 'A,' stands for 'Strives for Excellence.'

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've really enjoyed meeting the adventurous people of the world and hearing their stories while sharing my own. Couchsurfing offers the perfect forum for this. It saddens me to see couchsurfing being used as some kind of traveler's Tinder or something. Seeing people with 75 references, all single females, annoys me. That's not what CS is for. That being said, I've had some really wonderful experiences with hosts in the past, hosts who really understand what CS is all about. I hope to be one of those hosts/guests.

Hitting my friend in the face with a coconut from the top of a tree in the Bahamas. While it wasn't as amazing for him, it said something about my precision throwing skills.
