About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Quenching My Wanderlust

ABOUT ME
KY-->MO-->CA-->OR-->CA-->TN

Recently moved to Nashville, TN after living on the West Coast for six years. I grew up on a family farm in Kentucky but I've been traveling and moving around for about a decade. I decided it was time to be near home again. I left my heart in the Pacific Ocean but I'm happy to be in Music City. I work full-time and go to school part-time.

I'm a freethinker and fairly non-conventional. I try to take a practical route to make my dreams come true. If I could have it my way, I'd say screw practicality. I believe in the human potential movement. I think the struggles we go through in life make us more beautiful. I enjoy creativity, kindness, and open-hearted people. I have an intense drive to learn. I've taken classes at various universities all over the country, but I also understand that, in the end, we know nothing about this vast complicated, beautiful universe. I love deep thinkers, free spirits, risk takers, and people who are living their lives awake.

Looking to have many new great experiences with travelers as we explore this city together! Let's grab a brew, watch some tunes, have conversation and eat good food.

PHILOSOPHY

"To live content with small means; to seek elegance rather than luxury, and refinement rather than fashion; to be worthy, not respectable, and wealthy, not, rich; to listen to stars and birds, babes and sages, with open heart; to study hard; to think quietly, act frankly, talk gently, await occasions, hurry never; in a word, to let the spiritual, unbidden and unconscious, grow up through the common - this is my symphony." ~ William Henry Channing

"It doesn't interest me what you do for a living. I want to know what you ache for - and if you dare to dream of meeting your heart's longing. It doesn't interest me how old you are. I want to know if you will risk looking like a fool - for love - for your dreams - for the adventure of being alive." ~ Oriah Mountain Dreamer

"Everybody needs beauty as well as bread, places to play in and pray in, where nature may heal and give strength to body and soul." ~ John Muir

"Make a radical change in your lifestyle and begin to boldly do things which you may previously never have thought of doing, or been too hesitant to attempt. So many people live within unhappy circumstances and yet will not take the initiative to change their situation because they are conditioned to a life of security, conformity, and conservation, all of which may appear to give one peace of mind, but in reality nothing is more damaging to the adventurous spirit within a man than a secure future." ~ Jon Krakauer

"As a single footstep will not make a path on the earth, so a single thought will not make a pathway in the mind. To make a deep physical path, we walk again and again. To make a deep mental path, we must think over and over the kind of thoughts we wish to dominate our lives." ~ Henry David Thoreau

Fav philosophers: Alan Watts, Joesph Campbell, Thoreau, Emerson, Carl Sagan, Carl Jung, Terrence McKenna, I listen to Joe Rogan's podcast quite often

One Amazing Thing I've Done

I spent a month living and working in Big Sur, CA at The Esalen Institute. I've driven across the United States three times. Volunteered in tsunami affected areas of India and refugee clinics in Costa Rica. AND, I've eaten a bacon maple glazed doughnut in Portland! ;)

Teach, Learn, Share

I love pets, so if you have a pet that needs some play time or caring for, I'll be happy to assist!

Aside from that, I simply like spending quality time with people and learning about them as a person. I will try to show you some music spots in Nashville. It's best to have some ideas of what you'd like to see or do beforehand though as I am new to the city.

What I Can Share With Hosts

I usually like to meet people and see what I can share with them. I'd definitely be up to taking you out to grab drinks, coffee/tea, dinner/lunch or preparing a meal at home.
