Chi sono

CURRENT MISSION

To find myself somewhere in the world. I'm checking remote locations as well.

ABOUT ME

A description of myself... well then... I grew up in god's waiting room, Port Charlotte, Florida, the median age there is something like 49 years old... unnecessary information... I paint oil portraits, mostly black and white paintings, I spend about 20 percent of my days writing. Nothing makes me more content than holding a nice pen in my hand. I usually write backwards. More useless information. At the moment, I'm sort of wandering around the world, experiencing life from different perspectives. I love diving into other cultures and trying to adopt the mentality of the inhabitants. I take sort of the same approach towards university, I've declaired a major, but I take pride in choosing off the wall courses to expand my horizons. I'm interested in physics, quantum physics, religious studies, pottery, painting, sculpture, creative writing, astronomy philosophy... that sort of thing. I listen to punk rock music, a little reggae, a little hip-hop, anything with a good beat... oh, I can't forget funk. I love funk music, like Incubus' first 2 albums, SCIENCE and Fungus Amongus... I party mad hard, haha, even though I'm still under the legal drinking age in the US. I try to be as open minded as possible. Sometimes I'm a bit naive but I think I've got a pretty good head on my shoulders. I prefer to do my traveling alone, because there are an infinite number of ways to meet people, especially being alone. Sometimes I get a little bit down but for the most part I'm always smiling. I try to play the guitar and the piano, and some percussion as well. What else... ah, I'm trying to get dreads naturally right now, but I have a feeling it's not going to work out as planned and I'm going to end up making them some random day when I have nothing else to do. I'm way too loud most of the time (typical American) but I blame it on the tone of my voice. I think it carries quite well.

PHILOSOPHY

I've been spending so much of my time here in Düsseldorf, Germany contemplating what exactly my personal philosophy is, and I've come to 2 conclusions. The first is that I realized, sitting in my tiny 30sq meter flat in Düsseldorf's ghetto, that there are an infinite number of paths one person can take and life, and within each path, an infinite number of other paths, and so on and so forth. Having realized this, I though to myself that really, it doesn't matter what I choose to do. Also, being so young, I think this is the time in life when it's good to be a little bit selfish. Looking for exactly what fills up my soul, and what really makes me happy. I'm not afraid of death, and I'm not afraid of not accomplishing my goals (although I revisit them everyday, on my little scrap ripped up paper with the things I really want to do written on it in chicken scratch). The second thing, is that anything I choose to do, is perfect. Any path I take, in the grand scheme of things, is totally fine, as long as I'm not hurting anyone else. Hopefully that makes some sense.

Musica, film e libri

mmmm

Movies... I just watched this movie called Kiss Kiss Bang Bang... I suggest you watch it if you haven't already. I don't like horror movies, unless you consier zombie movies horror, but I don't. Zombie movies have their own genre, I think. Favorite zombie movie... probably Dead Alive, or the newer name, I think it's called Braindead. It's the one with the zombie rat monkey in the beginning. I love a good comedy, like Mel Gibson movies, Young Frankenstein, Blazing Saddels... etc. I don't like chick flicks.
I don't watch TV, but I did download a couple series, I watch Curb Your Enthusiasm (creator of Seinfeld, Larry David) and I watch the US version of The Office.
Music... oh boy. I love music. I talked about my music taste in the about me section, maybe I should have waited. Punk, reggae, classic rock, metal, hip hop, funk, I listen to a really wide variety but punk rock always stays on top, even if it is dead.
Books... my favorite author at the moment is Chuck Palahniuk, the author of Fight Club, I'm sure the vast majority of you readings this have seen that movie. They're making a new movie called Rant based on one of his books... can't wait to see that. I also like Douglas Adams and a shit ton of poets... although remebering names has never been one of my fortes.
