ABOUT ME

Coming from the small big country Holland is, my personal feeling of colonial expansion took me to SE-Asia two years ago. Showing me how things could be done, seen, thought, differently, better or worse, has widened my perspective on almost everything in life.

I'm open minded, growing more open minded as I go. I'll talk, maybe even better at listening, about everything, or nothing at all. I'll give you a laugh, laugh with you, or tell you how that really wasn't that funny. I'll go out and be the last one standing, or have a lonely stare at a starry sky. I have a passion for music that keeps getting bigger and is taking me places I haven't been before, making me do things I never thought I'd do. I'll sing you to sleep or shut up nicely.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I hope to meet lots of amazing people while surfing myself and will gladly offer my couch when I'm back in Holland and actually have one!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

This couchsurfing rookie only has one surfing experience in lovely Indooroopilly, Brisbane. Dutch guy Arjen let me and two others stay at his house and abuse his Nintendo Wii, while we discovered Brisbane and watched the worldcup. Good times!

Interests

As I said, music is my biggest interest. I travel with a guitar (which can sit silently in its bag) and try to get better at playing it. I went out on a limb in Asia a few times and got up on stage. A learning experience...I love meeting people, new music, and having old music in new places.

I had a blast cheering Holland on to the WC-finals and miss actually being active myself, coming from spending 5 days a week on a hockey pitch. I love skiing, and should do so more.

I like watching films and television, though my education prohibits me ever watching anything without thinking about it too much (movie science, it exists!) I like getting caught up in the creative process of making movies myself.

I love having a beer, a laugh and a good time with friends.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Zipping through the jungle on the Gibbon Experience in Laos, motorbiking across Sumatra, nightly torpedo dolphins on a boat trip in Indonesia, breathtaking sunrise on Angkor Wat, meeting people from all over the world!

And then there's this time when I got my shoe lacing diploma in fourth grade...those were the days.
