About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Keep winning?

ABOUT ME

I'm pretty bad at these descriptions, I guess because I think they're kinda narcissistic. My hope is that you can take what will inevitably be my somewhat terse descriptions on here in good humour and good faith and get to know me in the non-binary world before writing me off. I'm really a very easy person to get along with if you're even a half-way decent human being; I guess just take everything on here with a nod and wink.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Interests

Anarchy: Currently reading all the major writers in roughly chronological order and trying to get back in the saddle as far as news, local actions, etc. are concerned (as this was not really viable whilst I was traveling).

Animal Rights/Veganism: Supporter of animal rights, worked with various student and affinity groups and have been a vegan for 7 years, love animals... obv.

Capoeira Angola/Yoga: 3 years' training in Capoeira Angola, really love it, but never seem to have someone around to play with; some experience with yoga, though not an avid practitioner. I've started running and doing weight training in lieu of these other things.

Education: Degree in 'Third World Studies' focused on environmental justice and sustainable development.

Environmental Justice: Taken part in anti-fracking/anti-mountain-top removal actions, legal/jail support, petitioning, writing, etc. Currently trying to organize my life so that I can participate further in a sustainable way.

Job: I was recently hired as a Youth Program Coordinator through AmeriCorps at the local YMCA, which basically means I get to mentor and fuck around with kids all day (when I'm not making fliers).

Music: Drummer of 11 years, mediocre bass/guitar skills, decent singing/music theory; studied ethnomusicology, trying to get a band or musical project together, etc.; mostly into (good) (anarcho-)punk and rock steady now, also folk, older blues and jazz, hip-hop, latin, positive whatever; street performance.

Regenerative Design/Sustainability: Earned Permaculture Design Certificate; worked on animal sanctuaries/local CSA's; WWOOFed the US for two years, now I'm trying to get the initial design for my family's land put together so that next year I can begin a farm and radical education centre.

Kicking back, meeting new people and learning old things, especially skillz -gotta have the skillz.

Music, Movies & Books

Hard to say, kids who grow up with the internet probably have too much access to such things... I'll just refer you to the above interests. There're more obviously, but if you're interested, just ask.
