About Me

CURRENT MISSION

moving to Albuquerque, NM and then to (near Taos)

ABOUT ME

What is prominent is my bad back arthritis. Standing and sitting is painful. Walking is good up to a point. I love walking. I miss working and would like to find something new or a caregiving job that I can handle. Ex Coast Guard, long distance hitch hiker, cook, truck driver, painter. i have a 4x5 camera that I hope to get involved with again. I would be ecstatic to make a living doing fine art prints. I'm drawn to people that like the outdoors, creative people and freedom seekers.

PHILOSOPHY

Don't wait too long to follow your dream. Some sacrifice can be good but don't forget about the myth of Sisyphus who pushed the rock up the hill over and over. Explore mentally. Take a stand for what feels right.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

When I get my own place then I can offer a place to stay in. One day I hope to build an earthship. I do plan on asking for a place to stay until I can find home. Mostly for showers.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

In my 20's that was my primary way to live.

A friend brought me to a party in Santa Cruz, CA. I spent the night. It was great. I felt so much at home. As time went on I got to know everyone really well. I washed the dishes and they seemed to like that. After a few months the topic came up of how I started to live there. Everyone thought that I was a guest of a friend. They laughed a lot. I never thought that it was an issue since they seemed so open and free. Another guy started surfing the couch there. He played guitar every night. I want to Alaska with him for work. We split up. I miss that guy. Don't you worry about me staying past my welcome. It's just that nobody ever told me to leave back then. Now that I'm older I am more concerned to not tread on anyone's space for longer than is comfortable for them.

Interests

I want to learn woodsman skills. My goal in life is to experience and understand our purpose. Don't be a coward, mysticism takes a leap of faith. Gone are the mystic fools that use to help our local communities coalesce in spirit and heal. People that should know better drive the wicked oil machines. It's too late for much of the environment but I will go look and search for a peace to commune with and to grow some food on. Earthships! I will take my arthritic back in to a dug out hole, stack and pound tires as my bones grind. So be it. It's worth it for a home. My "interest" is to build this house in Northern New Mexico.
