About Me

Looking to inspire and be inspired.

I just received my master's degree in tropical forestry. I grow thousands of native Hawaiian trees for reforestation projects.

I am also in the beginning phase of starting my own farm and native plant nursery and building a tiny house on the side!

I wake up everyday with a deep desire to break down the boundaries of comfortability and to experience the raw nature of our beautiful planet. I indiscriminately travel, explore remote mountain forests. I am an almost fluent german speaker. I wake up before sunrise to capture brilliant landscape photos on a weekly basis.

Live and let live. Mark twain once wrote, "travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness". This is my life.

“A society grows great when old men plant trees whose shade they know they shall never sit in.”

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I am honored to have met so many kind people connected to CS in Europe. I cherish my time spent with all of you. I now live in the countryside on the Big Island of Hawai'i, I will try to accommodate a surfer or two into my schedule.

I met and stayed with a few awesome people when I backpacked through Europe in the Summer of 2013.

I enjoy almost all new experiences. Here's my short list: the outdoors(hiking, backpacking, exploring forests, forestry, nature photography), traveling, road trips, foreign language, gardening, being around plants, landscape photography, time lapse photography, history, art, science, astronomy, literature, film, etc.

I spend a great deal of time researching nutritional science. I love being very closely connected to my garden. I am constantly inspired to cook delicious plant-based meals.

Music, Movies, and Books

If I had to chose one genre it would have to be classical baroque. The cello moves me. Too many others to name. I am open to experiencing all music at least once.

I really enjoy film. I enjoy a good epic: Interstellar, There Will Be Blood, 2001 A Space Odyssey, etc... I also enjoy comedies. STEP BROTHERS!
