About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I'm staying with family in Los Angeles, but intend to travel the Pacific west up to Vancouver. I took this year off from college so this is my summer abroad.

ABOUT ME

I'm easy going. I listen well, and I'm honest.

I'm looking for couches all along the west coast, and I'm not trying to plan too far ahead in advance because I'm always going to take adventures over itineraries.

PHILOSOPHY

Shrug life

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I haven't hosted or stayed on a couch specifically through CS, but I was in Chicago when I met some couch surfers from San Francisco and couldn't believe that something this good exists. "There's actually a website to stay with and host people in travel?" It was a defining moment of my life.

Interests

Traveling the west coast. Buffalo (Buffalo Field Campaign Volunteer in 2009-2010) Boxing (Mayweather v Pacquiao anyone?). Reading (Recently Taoist writings, Jack Kerouac and Dostoyevsky ). Thinking. Music (A Tribe Called Quest and Animal Collective at the moment). Writing. Drum circles. Walking around. Unconventional politics (recovering teenage anarchist...). Existential philosophy and shit...

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I volunteered for four months with the Buffalo Field Campaign, a conservation group that uses media to bring awareness to America's Last Wild Buffalo. This was my first traveling quest and kept me continuing the adventures.

My profile picture was taken from a fishing trip I took last summer. I caught a four foot sturgeon in the Frasier River in British Columbia. It was amazing to see such a pre-historic creature, and of course we released it with only slight fish trauma, so it turned out alright.
